(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

Illness is profitable, so why cure it? Think about it. If there were no major illness the hospitals and Doctors would fail, sending an economic ripple effect, the likes unseen even during the great depression. (that is a conspiracy theory that has been floating around forever)

Now, think about this: Does anyone really think a doctor would allow a loved one to die if a cure were really available? Would anyone really let someone die just to claim a profit? The way the world works today, I'm not sure. I'm not convinced that "some people" wouldn't sell out a loved one to the highest bidder.

Psychiatry and mental disease branch of medicine still needs a few decades to grow up (making up diagnoses and syndrome without any clinical evidence or pathology etc), but besides that science is continuously finding and improving drugs for all manner of diseases. This is mostly sponsored by big pharma, because drug trials are expensive as fuck. Sure, working out, eating right and living a stress free life goes a long way, but most people aren't willing to do that. They rather treat their disgusting cholesterol values with statins or fibrates - without them they'll probably day way earlier by heart disease caused by atherosclerosis.

To equate that to mean you are 9000 times more likely to die from a doctor is just not true.

The real statement should be, "You are 9000 times more likely to be accidentally killed by a gun owner then by a doctor."

That statistic, IMO, is pretty meaningless. What is the total number of gun deaths and the total number of physician deaths? THAT would be a more meaningful comparison.

There are all kinds of headaches and lots of things that can cause a headache, some benign, some life threatening. Doctors/nurses/nurse practitioners/PAs/nurse midwives are not psychics, we can't tell what's wrong with someone just by looking at them, we have to do tests and those tests cost money and many times those tests have risks-which are disclosed to the patient. A wet tap is a risk if a lumbar puncture. A blood patch is the treatment for that complication but it can also be treated with caffeine and time-waiting for it to heal.

Now let's look at the flip side, imagine the doctor told her "it's just a headache, go home" and it did turn out to be meningitis and she suffered complications from it or even death from it, he could be sued for malpractice for not performing a thorough evaluation and this conversation would be about how stupid doctors are because they didnt know she had meningitis.

The bottom line is, if you have a headache and you don't want to be thoroughly evaluated and treated for it, don't seek treatment.

I agree about not seeking treatment which is my point. Running to doctors for every little thing is not a good idea.

My wife should have ignored it. Instead she spent nearly 48 hours in the ER and endured 3 invasive procedures for nothing. Not a good example to get me to ever see a physician.

I thought I might hear from you on this one. I'm not attacking all doctors, but my brother went to one for his colitis, and the guy just strung him along, having him in for office visits, not doing anything to get him to improve. That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. He went to another doctor, who said you have two options. One is to go on a regimen of steroids, which he would have probably had to take for the rest of his life, or take out the colon. He opted for the second method of treatment and is now fine.

Healthcare is the largest industry in this country now. If they begin curing diseases, it will put a lot of people out of work. Why would anyone voluntarily put themselves out of work? Especially for a career they spent a ton of money getting their degree for.

I'm just one of those dimwit conspiracy theorists, but sometimes these questions need to be asked by people like me.

I go to a local clinic, where I have known the women for years..(one is a Physician's Assistant, the other a Family Nurse Practioner), and I have been well taken care of. If I need tests, or anything else, they make sure I get the treatment needed for what ails me. I also had a Doctor there in the clinic a few years ago who made sure I got the proper treatment/prescriptions I needed to get me well. There was also a talk to where I can help myself with exercise, etc. I think it all comes down to find the Doctor/Physician's Assistant/Family Nurse Practioner who will listen to you, and help you find the right treatment you need to get well.
