Image Jesus what has happened to these 2 musicians.Another cd full of what seems to be outakes, demos and leftovers that are dull, lifeless and just show they are a shadow of their former selves. I'm struggling to get through this one........UGH!

That bad? Damn, I was going to get one at Best Bite for ten bones since it has "three exclusive bonus tracks." I'd better think about it some more.

3 exclusive bonus tracks = 3 even more left over leftovers, 3 more demos of the original demos..........you get the idea   ..I'm tired of what Heart has put out since lovemongers, its by far the weakest stuff of their careers , its makes me wonder how they could have come up with all that great music they did in the 70's and 80's.

Was probably the best of what they did and now as you mentioned it, they are releasing the stuff now that they came up with a long time ago that they never released. Plus they are getting old in the brain and that has some effect on what music they are doing now I'm sure.

I'm sure there are lots of people on this site who have written original music before, I being one of them. I probably only copy written perhaps 10% of everything I ever composed at the most. Everything else was just ideas that didn't get completed or I got tired of before going any further. I'm sure others on this site that are past or current composers know exactly what I'm talking about. So just imagine how much unfinished "ideas" and "stuff" that all bands have that they never completed or that never got released. I'm sure that there comes a point when a band starts to go back through all the "ideas" and "stuff" that they never used on an album and they start working with it again and eventually release it. This could very well be what your talking about in regards to this new Heart album.

I had high hopes for this and now yulog the purple hippo fucked it up. I'm gonna listen to it anyway. But from their last efforts and yulog's post, I think it's not

gonna go well.

If it's something you like, it won't matter what Grimace said about it. However if it does turn out to suck, we can say: "Grimace told you so".

Oh come on people, this is the best new Heart album since PassionWorks came out. :D

No just kidding. I listened to it last night. Certainly wont be one of their classic albums, but it does have some enjoyable moments and few good songs. Heart's worst effort is still alot better than the best efforts of most.

Does it have at least a few flawed gems, dusted down?

I certainly don't think it would be a waste of your money. If you like early retro Heart (the Epic / pre Capitol years) you will really like it, (a few songs are a little Led Zepplinish in places ) and I expect die hard Heart fans will love it. If you expect a return to the Heart/Bad Animals /Brigade sound you will likely be disappointed, but I don't think they ever intended to go back to that era anyway.
