Seems AI's producers realized that nobody actually cares about the show anymore, so they figured they'd hire a judge who could at least cause a bit of controversy to get them in the headlines. I really don't see AI lasting much longer.

Might watch the first one just out of curiousity, but won't be watching AI anymore probably. The Voice IMO is waaay better. The judges chemistry, the premise of the show starting strictly on 'the voice, and they definitely get some mega talent, especially this year. Some cool mentors this year too....Rob Thomas, Billy Joe Armstrong, Michael Buble, etc....

Agreed.

I even like X-Factor better than Idol. The judges are less concerned with being "characters." On Idol, each judge had a few catchphrases and Simon always had to be "the mean one." On X-Factor, they don't rely on catchphrases, and Simon just acts like a regular guy who sometimes likes things and sometimes doesn't. It all feels a bit more natural.
