Batteries, flashlights/lanterns, canned goods and water all taken care of.

Usually this kind of thing is silly and people panic over small snowstorms and that kind of thing around here. However the last tropical storm that blew through this area knocked my brother's power out for 4 days and many of my friends and co-workers were without electricity even longer.

Leave it to weather geeks to be "excited" by complete chaos and disorder! Not looking forward to this in Boston.

No no no, I DO NOT want to hear the whining and crying from the media should such a scenario develop. The Won needs to take his ass whipping the old fashioned way and without excuses like a little rain and snow.

If the storm did, you know this would cause the dems to demand a revote / recount if they lose this election.

I love storms too, especially with lots of rain, thunder and lightening. But in your case why are you excited for this thing?

Except for Jimmies. So in 9 months from now is there going to be a baby boom in that area?

I live in north central PA so I'll be getting a little piece of it too unfortunately. Probably wont be much left when gets to my neck of the woods though.

This is going to be more of a Monday/Tuesday thing because it's so slow moving. Plenty of time to prepare. The models are all over the place as to where it will directly hit.

I live in New Jersey. I also live across the street from a river, so I am in a flood zone. Got hit with a mandatory evacuation and need to be out by noon tomorrow.

Fuck this.

Damn, I just read where NY city might get 11 inch's or more of rain! My best advice (and I live on a barrier Island in fl) having been thru a few is stock up on batteries, water, GAS, non-perishable's, ICE, ICE and more ICE. If you have a generator that will run your whole hacienda that will be of great use when your without power for a week or more which really sucks. John, Ed, and the rest, good luck and stay safe. GO Phins!

Lots of rain already, but not much wind yet. 6 to 7pm should be the worst of it into Tuesday.

Holy freakin' Christ! That's 4 inches more than we get all year here in PHX!! I can't even imagine THAT much rain in a single storm. The low-lying areas of the Valley of the Sun would have water 25 ft. deep or more! Hell, when we get a serious storm that drops an inch or thereabouts the streets are flooded, the fire dept. is doing rescues from motorists who got swamped in under-passes, and the Red Cross is out setting up temp. relief shelters and giving out parkas to the homeless!

To all you peeps in the path of this thing, God speed and know we're all thinking about ya.

That's about as real as Augeri's singing  I especially like the motor boat cruising across the completely still and calm water. Hello Photo Shop.

unfortunately that one is. it is currently dangling 90 stories above 7th avenue. the surrounding streets are being closed and residents are being told to move to lower floors. someone reported it is directly over carnegie hall.

and we haven't even gotten the main part of this storm yet.

Obama's urging people to get out of the way of the storm. I wonder if he was president back when Katrina happened, would they have followed his warnings then?
