Black Friday Question

The Rocky Undisputed Collection which has all 6 of the films on Blu-Ray, usually costs around $69.99. But right now it is available on Amazon for $29.99.

The new James Bond 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray set has a list price of $300.00, but right now it's on Amazon for $150.00.

If I wait until Black Friday, do you think that they will come down even lower? Or should I jump on those current prices?

Probably will be sold out on Black Friday, unless your camping out and be one of the very first in line.

Do any of you know the answer to this? If Amazon have a special one day sale called a Gold Box deal on a Blu-Ray disc, and you go to order it from them during that sale, but they've run out of stock of it, will they send you that Blu-Ray movie at the sale price when they get more in stock?

Amazon

Don't think so. In my experience, when they are gone, you get a "deal is expired" or "out of stock" message and have to wait till back in stock at whatever new price Amazon sets.

Generally, I have found it is better to jump on the deal when you see it. I have been wrong before and could have save a few dollars at best, but usually when I don't get the deal and follow the price it takes a while to come back around to the deal price. It's a little bit of a gamble, so good luck.

I will second everything Mike said. The "Gold Box" deals and the like are "get it till they're gone" with no rain checks. The deal is good within a certain time frame or while supplies last. If you see a great deal like that, you need to jump on it. No telling when you'll see a better deal, or even one that good.

I managed to get the complete re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series (the one that was on Sci-Fi, now SyFy) on Blu-Ray for 1/2 price with one of those deals. It's not worth gambling that you might see a better price- you probably won't. Those "Gold Box" deals on Amazon can be pretty difficult to beat.

Black Friday sale prices are notoriously over hyped... and under supplied...

..and usually if you simply track the price for 3 -4 months you will find it cheaper than the Black Friday price...
