Although I consider myself more of a dog person, I like cats too - if for no other reason they're funny, especially when there's more than one of them. My wife and kids are more cat people which translates to us having only 1 dog and, at the moment, 8 cats!Don't jump to conclusions.... one of our cats had kittens about 5 weeks ago so thank God, 5 of them are leaving in about a week, which leaves 3 cats which make it their life's mission to torment the dog. And they're good at it too!
2 of them are your basic, everyday fun-loving, mischievous pranksters that love attention and affection. One of them, however, HATES to be touched! Very strange. I've never seen a cat that didn't love to be scratched and stroked. She'll come and sit by you on the couch or jump up on the bed and lay right next to you but if you reach to touch her, she freaks the fuck out and starts hissing. Weird. She's normal in every other aspect and plays with the other 2 just fine.

My brother had a cat that would hardly ever leave the water bowl. It would sit by it and play in the water for hours at a time. It was always half soaked, and the area surrounding the water bowl was a mess. Was a strange looking Persian cat. It walked in a strange way. If it was walking in a straight line, the back legs weren't in line with the front ones. We were thinking this one might have been in the birth canal too long or something.

We were thinking this one might have been in the birth canal too long or something. The 2 normal ones are orange tiger-striped twin brother and sister. A feral cat that my wife kept feeding because she "felt so sorry for it"
gave birth to them in our aluminum shed this past summer. The temps inside it were unbearable even at night so one day while the mother was away, I went in and got them so they wouldn't bake to death. They were in pretty bad shape and probably wouldn't have survived another day. We knew she had had the kittens but had no idea where until my wife noticed her hanging around the she. They were right at 3 weeks old when we rescued them and of course all the special feeding needs and re-hydrating they required made us fall in love with them and instead of putting them up for adoption, we kept them.
Now.... I had to tell you that part of the story so that the next part would make some sense - maybe....
They're 6 months old now and are in perfect health, been to the vet for shots, and have both been fixed. Since they have been together since conception, they are inseparable. Play, sleep, eat... everything. They have a complete obsession with running water. They can be asleep in another part of the house and if water gets turned on anywhere or the toilet flushes, they bolt to that location, jump up on the counter or the side of the tub, whatever... and sit there absolutely mesmerized by it. They don't try to touch it or get in it, they just watch it move. And if it happens to be the toilet they heard, they just about knock you down getting to it as soon as the door is opened! My theory is that is something to do with the severe dehydration they experienced. The male is the funniest though. He'll sit there staring at the sink drain long after the water has stopped running and gone down the drain with this stupid look on his face. I swear if there was a thought bubble above his head it would justsay one word: "FASCINATING!!"![]()
