Not the first two people I would've thought of for a duet...

....but gawd they sound good together! Loving this song. Blake and Christina's voices blend real well. Christina's voice is amazing on this one and Blake holds his own right along with her. Something about the chorus I just love.

Thoughts? What are some other odd pairings would you like to hear........

Meh.... Christina's voice is like nails on a blackboard to me. Every song she sings sounds so forced and unnatural to me - but that's just me.
A couple of duets I think would be really good are Don Henley/Carrie Underwood and Ann Wilson/Josh Groban. The latter has some real possibilities given the range both of them have with regard to both genres as well as vocal abilities.
Really kinda surprised we never saw a Bryan Adams/Ann Wilson duet back when duets were flying around like crazy in the late 80's and 90's.

She does sing hard, but I think she's a great singer. The movie she was in with Cher, can't remember the name of it, really showcases what kind of talent she has.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I remember first hearing about the Petty/Nicks duet (Stop Dragging my Heart Around) when it was coming out and I thought, "it just had to be awful", but damn, that song kicked all kinds of ass. Ozzy and Lita were pretty damn good as well.

Of all the duets from that particular era, the one that's still my favorite is Henley/Smyth "Sometimes Love Just Aint Enough". Smyth delivers it with so much passion while Henley brings up the rear with outstanding harmonies and is sorta the counter to Smyth's raspy, aggressive delivery. Beautifully done.

Burlesque is the movie you're talking about. Didn't see it so I can't comment. I dunno.... I guess she's fairly talented given the success she's had and the staying power she's managed over the years. I've just never liked the "in your face" "watch how shocking I can be" kind of celebrity she is/was.

On Topic: Remember the first time you heard/saw the duet with Natalie Cole and her dad?! That was pretty freakin' cool at the time. I mean NOBODY had done anything like that prior. It was eerie to some extent but the coolness and sentiment far outweighed any kind of creepiness.

Yeah, I remember that, and I also remember the huge lump in my throat. That was very powerful.
