Jodie Foster - Golden Globes

So I'm a fan of Jodie's and I did not watch the Golden Globes because, well, who gives a shit about famous people awarding famous people. But all day I heard about this Jodie Foster speech and if she was overly odd or not. I watched it on you tube and though rambling, I thought it was brilliant and poignant, even if a little too inside-baseball.

I like her even more now.

I thought it was brilliant too. She's a really intelligent person, and well, maybe that's why some were so confused! I thought it was smart and very touching. I was teary when she talked of her mother. She's one of the few child actors that is a true success story. I think she's great!

Rambling or not, that's beside the point. What I don't understand is all these people acting so shocked that she, in so many words, said out-loud what I thought we all already knew for decades:She's Gay (...is "gay" supposed to be capitalized....? I think it is when it represents a sector or group of individuals... Hell I don't know... ) Jodi, Kristy McNichol and Justine Bateman I thought had been publicly outed for years. I don't get what the hype is all about.
The one that shocked me was last week when Raven Simone said in an interview that she was hoping Michelle Obma would perform the ceremony when she and the girl she's engaged to are able to get married legally.

It seemed to me she was actually poking fun at the media, who always seemed to want to hear her make some public announcement about it. I felt she was being humorous. These actors are tortured by the media really. The media builds them up and loves to make their personal lives public, to try to tear them down. She's always done a great job protecting her personal life.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane is an all time favorite of mine. Contact and Silence Of The Lambs are the only other films of hers that I really like. Well, Taxi Driver also but to me that is De Niro's film more than anybody's.

Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane... I was just thinking about that movie the other day. I heard the name Miglioriti on some random show and of course it reminded me of that movie. Good flick! She was in another movie where she had a daughter and they were holed up in their safe room but can't remember the name at the moment. That was a pretty good flick too. She did a great jpb in that one I thought.

Justine Bateman is gay? Man, she was one of my favorite hotties back then in the 80s on Family Ties. I thought that she was married with kids? Not that means anything one way or the other.

I don't think she's gay. Her husband probably doesn't think so either. I'm gonna take a guess and say someone confused her with Meredith Baxter (she came out a few years ago).

I was in love with her after seeing Tom Sawyer in 1973. My first 'throb turned out gay. Bummer.
