Facebook question for those more savy than me

I'm not hugely facebook savy.
The question I have is:
Is it possible for a friend to post a topic on facebook that I cannot participate in, where others can?
I can't post on one of my friend's gun debate threads and I figure it's because they don't like what they figure I am going to post. I keep getting an error that my post isn't possible.

Interesting. I don't think so, but I'm not a big user either.

If there is a comment box available, then you shouldn't be blocked. If you were restricted, you wouldn't have that box. Sometimes, Facebook just errors out for no reason. It could last for an hour or two. Probably try again later.

Actually, the friend must have deleted the thread, as she was getting a lot of backlash from caused by her "ban every gun in America" and F*ck the NRA views.

Yes. Anyone on Facebook can create lists. Anyone can be included or excluded. You might be included in the "Family" list and not included in the "Work friends" list. And they can post something to any specific list.

There's that to. Log out and back in. If the thread was deleted it should clear out when you log back in.

But you won't have the "Write a comment" box if that's the case.

True, with a list, he wouldn't even see the post.

I don't debate shit on Facebook, I just post cat videos from youtube and pictures of what I'm eating.
Oh, and I post "Journey sucks!" comments in every thread on Journey's FB Page.

Though you are friends with your buddy, the Facebook News Feed shows ALL activity of his postings. He could have posted in a topic that somebody else has put up and you might not be friends with them. If you aren't friends with the person who initially posted the article, you won't be able to post a comment. You're just seeing your buddies News Feed Activity.

I have noticed when people delete things, they stay for a day or longer on the FB phone app, but if you look at the full version, like on a pc, it's gone immediately. The app is slow at catching up for some reason.

You can block users from seeing a post but then you wouldn't be able to see it all, much less post on that thread.

On a side note, if you are ever going to delete your facebook account or if you just want to have a backup, you can download all your FB data in one zip file. It takes awhile but it is done in the backround and FB sends it to your default email. It will contain all the comments, photos videos you have put on your timeline or account . I t will also have your messages too. I backed up my wife's account and it came to less than 100 meg, even with about 500 photos and a dozen videos so it's good compression. The option is available on the Accounts setting page at the bottom.
What's in your archive?
Photos or videos you've shared on Facebook
Your Wall posts, messages and chat conversations
Your friends' names and some of their email addresses
(Note: We'll only include email addresses for friends who've allowed this in their account settings.)
What's not in your archive?
Your friends' photos and status updates
Other people's personal info
Comments you've made on other people's posts
You can also download an expanded archive to see more about your account history.

Just got zinged by Facebook for a video I uploaded. In the video, I was walking around my neighborhood and chatting with people. For back round audio (which you didn't really hear unless I was walking up steps or doing something else in a quiet environment), I had Big Moon playing.
I guess that was all it took, as the video got yanked, wow.

Anyone know how to delete a person from my "likes" in my profile? I wanna delete Lance Armstrong from my inspirational people part of my profile. I'm embarrassed to have this guy floating around in my FB profile!

1. Go to his page
2. hover your mouse cursor over the "liked" button.. a menu will appear
3. click "unlike"

Click on the likes area on your timeline. When you come to the likes page, find Armstrong. If he is listed in the top portion, you just have to click edit and then, click the x in his picture to delete him.
If it's his fb fan page, you'll find it near the bottom. Hover over his name and you'll see the liked balloon to the left. Hover on that and you'll get the options to unlike.

That worked for me. Thanks Don and Slucero. Both of you guys had it right. Don's method was easiest for me.
