Ok, so some of you may know about AFL or Australian Rules Football... us Aussies call it Footy. It's not to be confused with Rugby League which is the other game of Footy we play.

Australian Rules Football is a combination of a number of sports... Basketball with tap outs and bouncing the ball, Soccer with passing the ball by kicking, but the ball can be held before kicking, Rugby with tackling, Handball as players can punch the ball with a closed fist on an open palm and Gaelic Football (Irish Football), NFL with Punting and probably a few other sports I've forgotten. It's one of the most exciting sports you can watch as something is always happening. From the hard hits, to the fast running and silky skills, to the high marks (catches) to the great goals and precise kicking... it has something for everyone. I'll post some videos and info for those who are interested to see and learn about our great game.

Please feel free to ask any questions along the way ;)

The Footy Show - Is a TV show that has both a serious side and lite side to footy. One of the funny parts is a section called Street Talk, they go out to suburban areas and find some of the lowest forms of life in these areas and have some fun with them. Even if your not in to the game, you'll still have a laugh at what goes on here.

It's a shame Deano's gone, he would have simply loved this thread.
