WTF!!! Sinkhole swallows a man in his bedroom during the middle of the night in Florida.

They're saying they may never find his body. What the hell kind hole is this? :shock:

Wouldn't it seem that he could just follow the plumbing or something to dig or pull himself out?
He was in his bed so maybe he had a soft landing.

Well I'm not a shinkhole specialist but I get the idea that the soil directly below the house eroded away and when the foundation/floor gave way, he fell down into the hole as the soil around the sides of the hole caved in, burying him. Horrible thing to happen. One minute in bed, the next falling down a deep hole and being buried alive.

Sinkholes happen quite often in Florida. Especially during times of drought or little rain or when the rainy season starts, with too much rain. Water and spaces underground, shift. Every year we see a house or two swallowed by one. It's just rare for a person to be swallowed this way. Really sad! Just another perk of living in the sunshine state!
