Why is Flacco a douche in your opinion?

Seriously.

Calling you out in a friendly way. 8)

Explain.

Pretty simple for me. Every interview that I've ever seen with the guy, he comes across as a smug, arrogant prick. Not to mention, anyone on a public campaign who is telling people on the record that he's "the best QB in the NFL" (which is beyond laughable) is as douche as douche gets! I've seen countless interviews of this guy whining about how nobody loves him or respects him. It borders on embarrassing! I just don't like the guy, and am offended on EVERY level that Flacco is the highest player in the entire NFL!

He comes off as a regular guy to me. Perhaps I hear more interviews living in Baltimore and not just ESPN soundbytes.

And he is right about no one respecting him by the way.

I would guarantee you if you met Flacco he would give you the time of day and be very friendly and not brush you off like the movie star QB tha Pats have.

As for being the highest paid player, you do know that only 3 years and 52 million of that is guaranteed? Cap hits of 6.8 million in 2013, 14 million in 2014 and 20 million in 2015. They will cut him or restructure after those 3 years. Take a look at Mark Sanchez's salary and then tell me Flacco is being overpaid.

Now if you want to call Flacco a geek = I may be on board with that one.

Flacco interview. Seems humble to me.

You do know that in spite of your youtube sound byte that he claimed he was the best QB in the NFL, right? Honestly, even if it were true, it's a puke inducing comment to make. I would be every bit as put off by the comment if Tom Brady were the one making the comment. If you're really that good, let everyone else tell us about it! Also, what is guaranteed versus non-guaranteed in the NFL (and most contracts in the NFL are structured that only a certain amount in guaranteed, so no news there) doesn't change the fact that the guy is the highest player in the history of the league. I've readily admitted that Flacco is a bit better than I gave him credit for. I'm just not sure Ozzie Newsome has his brain cells connected by giving Flacco every nickel, while allowing every other player to walk away. He's going to learn very quickly that Flacco isn't good enough to do it on his own.

And the next QB who becomes a free agent will eclipse Flacco's contract. That's the cycle. The Ravens made a mistake not locking him up at the end of last season. They had no choice but to pay him because the Cleveland Browns had tons of cap space and were going to pay Flacco even more just to stick it to Baltimore. What alternative did they have?

Flacco won't have to do it on his own. The offense has only lost Boldin. Admittedly a beast in the playoffs but 900 yds and 4 TD's in the regular season does not equal the near 7 million he was going to make. They do need to solve the LT question but otherwise will be fine on that side of the ball.

On Defense the Ravens were honestly not very good. Old and slow, but they were still good in the red zone. Look at the amount of points they gave up during the playoffs. I completely agree with what Ozzie Newsome is doing. The teams that make big splashes in free agency generally suck and are desperate.

Flacco commenting on his quotes at a local radio show at a bar nearby my house. This was before this past season. (Does Brady do personal appearances and meet the fans?)

Looks like Flacco the baseball player isn't even that good at the minor league level, so we probably won't ever see him in a Red Sox uniform.

No he doesn't, and honestly, I couldn't care less. Not relevant to me that Brady isn't out there shaking hands and kissing babies. The one thing I can tell you about Brady is that you would NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER hear him proclaim that he's the best QB in the NFL. Dude simply isn't wired that way and never has been. You can go back through his entire career and not find a single sound byte from Brady where he is saying something moronic.

With your problem with Flacco saying he is the best. If you watched the video I posted it was very tongue and cheek when he answered.

It's not like he was running around proclaiming himself to be the #1 QB in the NFL. He answered a question and laughed about it.

Brady is very arrogant towards fans from accounts I read and Flacco isn't. That's all I care about.

Flacco reminds me of Staubach with his persona. Definitely not his mobility. lol

He DOES seem like a humble guy, with a good sense of humor, though.

He's kind of a geek and awkward with the media at times. I'll be the first person to say that. Just don't find him arrogant at all.

Do any professional athletes really deserve the pay they receive? I don't know about you, but it saddens me that some baseball players make in one at bat what a lot of people make in a year of work. Think about that for a second.
