MANCHESTER, N.H. — A man who thought he was pretty good at ball tossing learned a hard lesson after losing $2,600 on a carnival game.

Now, he claims the game was rigged.

Henry Gribbohm, 30, says he lost his life savings playing the game at the Manchester Carnival and all he has to show for it is a giant stuffed banana with dreadlocks.

Gribbohm said he was trying to win an Xbox Kinect playing a game called “Tubs of Fun.” To win at the game, contestants try to toss balls into a tub.

When he practiced, he said it was easy. But he thinks something changed when he starting playing for the prize — the balls he tossed kept popping out of the tub.

“It’s not possible that it wasn’t rigged,” Gribbohm said.

Gribbohm told WBZ-TV in Boston he kept trying to win his money back by going double or nothing and lost $300 in just a few minutes.

He then went home to retrieve $2,300 more and he lost that money as well.

The next day, Gribbohm went back to the carnival to complain. He said the man who was running the game gave him $600 back and the giant stuffed banana.

Dismayed, Gribbohm filed a report with the Manchester Police Department. Police say they’re investigating the game to determine if any fraud was involved.

Fiesta Shows runs the traveling carnival. Company officials said the game is operated by an independent contractor who has worked for them for years. The contractor is also being interviewed by the company.

Meanwhile, the Tubs of Fun game has been removed from the carnival

$2,600 life savings? Well perhaps in the 1800's. It would definitely not go far in today's economy. As for the giant stuffed banana with dreadlocks vs an Xbox Kinect, what's the difference, both useless pieces of shit that aren't going to earn the guy a living where he can support a wife, kids and himself. If he really cared about his kid (we know he's got at least one that he's pushing around with the two AM/PM cups of coffee on top), he'd have taken the $2,600 and put it in his kid's college fund, or opened up a long term investment for the kid. What happens if he were to get killed, what would the wife and kid be able to do with the xbox? People are so fucking stupid sometimes. I guess you have to be from a fucked up family that was piss poor broke because their parents blew all their earnings on cigarettes, booze, gambling and hanging out with their friends more than they did their own kids, to know to do the right thing. Shit....when we found out my wife was pregnent with our first, my entire hobby portion of my life ended right then and there. No more planning on restoring this car or buying the fancy stereo system for my already restored car, no more fucking with music in a band, etc. all that shit was over and I've never looked back with regrets on getting rid of it all.

It's bad enough that this loser's (literally) story made the news cycle with his name attached but to then actually go on camera...?? Doing so however, served to actually confirm what my mind's eye thought he'd look like - to a tee! Tats, wife beater, wallet w/ chain, etc.

That's an admission to the game being rigged as far as I'm concerned. If there was nothing hinky (God, I hate that word but it just seemed to fit at this moment... ) about the "game" there's absolutely no reason why the vendor should have refunded any of the money. It's not like there was a product that was purchased that the idiot gamester returned which would then be fitting. (Think buying lots of clothes and the next day deciding you don't want some of them so you return them to the store for a refund.)

Well, like I stated above... he's got $600 back and apparently the dreadlocked banana is worth.... let's see.... doing the math.... $2,000! So if you look at it that way, he broke even. Now all he has to do is find out where the market is hot for those kinds of bananas, make a tidy little profit, buy his xbox and he's right back in the game. Pretty shrewd if ya ask me. Guy's a genius now that I think about it!

Nope, he sure isn't. I love the Men in Black movies. The only thing I didn't care for him in was the one where he was stuck in the sorority house or whatever it was with all those girls.
