Got this bottle last week and want to take it to a date's house tomorrow night. Can't seem to figure out a plan to open it. The amber colored sealant is too hard for the opener to really dig into it. Any ideas?

The top is raised. Just slice that part off now with a sharp knife. Use the knife point to prick it from the side to get a starting area for your slice. Then use your screw when you are ready to actually open it.

This did it. I panicked initially because the guy at the store told me it opens just like any other wine bottle, though he admitted to have never opened one before. Fortunately my knife made fairly short work of it. I did have to buy a waiter's corkscrew because the one I had too large for the top of the bottle. Crisis resolved though, and it was a fantastic wine that I can now highly recommend. Georgian Kindzmarauli.
