New lows in fake heritage bands: Fake ex members?

Theres a guy in Vegas , booking himself into casino gigs who also plays on cruise ships called Domenick Allen claiming to be formerly a singer of Foreigner. Even Foreigner's most obscure side men I have heard of and seeing this guy advertised this way really set off alarms. Nowhere can I find him listed anywhere in association with that band. Foreigner Talk's admin states this guy was never in and is not a former band member. One of my bands once had a guy sit in with us who told us he was a former keyboardist of Rainbow. Turns out he is on a JLT album and Kelly Keeling's solo album and other credits too. He's a great player, but I guess that's not enough. I blasted him on a Deep purple forum, now when you google him his fraud is the first thing that comes up. His friends even joined in the thread , he told them he was in three dog night as a keyboardist . Madness. With smart phone access you would think these jokesters would not dare to do this but I guess there are still people out there waiting to be defrauded. Maybe it doesn't matter, with Mick Jones off the road the real Foreigner is now a fake fraud too.

I saw Foreigner last night and took the whole thing in watching the crowd as much as I did the band.

Considering writing a piece on replacement singers/members, heritage bands - the good the bad and the ugly as I see it.

And yes I would include my online behavior when a certain band hired a youtube singer.

If there is interest I will do it.

Hey , Ed yes. By the way, I wouldn't mind seeing Foreigner without Mick, as the band is good and Chris Frazier has become one of my favorite drummers . Got to see him play with a cover band he sometimes plays with a month ago and finally meet him. I was planning to go to the LA gig this week but it looks sold out.

No, Live and on stage at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, July 6th 1992. John pulled me onstage at the end to sing R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A., he used to pull someone on stage at every show, not sure if he still does. Funny, all the times I've seen John do that, it was always a guy. That night it was me. I think he picked me because I had 2 of my kids there and we were right up front 2nd row center. Also, about mid-show he looked down at me and asked me for a light for his Marlboro.

You were his lover weren't you? He took you to his hotel room that night and made you his bitch!  8)

Yeah he is good! He was the drummer for TMG. First saw/heard him on the TMG - Dodge The Bullet tour DVD. Great concert DVD!

Kelly Hansen does a great job in my opinion as lead singer of the band. The other members are great musicians also.

Hardly any band has all original members from 3o to 40 years ago. I seen Foreigner not to long ago and they put on a

terrific show, played all the top tunes, and Hansen worked the crowd well. That's a helluva lot more than a lot of other

lead singer replacements have ever done or will do!

I saw Kelly Hansen with Hurricane in 87 or 88 opening for Saxon. Would never have pictured him in Foreigner back then.

Mick did come out for the final few songs, introduced by Kelly Hansen as the "Architect of Foreigner"

I think Kelly Hansen is a very good frontman. Better than Lou Gramm in that respect. I will start working on my article about the heritage bands soon.

Yea looks like Mick is slowly coming back .i think Kelly sings great as well. I was at a Vegas casino this weekend, wish I kept the place mat advertising Mr Fake ex Foreigner singer for evidence. It was from April, so I didn't get a chance to get another one as they then gave us the current May schedule placemats. This guy is bad for the industry and needs to be stopped.

I guess these guys claiming to be somebody they are not is something phony military guys have been branded with called "Stolen Glory". Just out of curiosity I tried to find any gigs of Foreigner's phony 1990 world tour Domenick claims to have been on with on set lists.fm and of course there's not one, because they weren't any. I saw clip of him singing Cold as Ice and he can't even sing these songs in the original key either!

I think i saw a vid with him in the johnny Edwards days, maybe he filled in for someone once and now he can add Foreigner to his list.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RK84DvdKus look at 2:23 could be him for 1 sec

No mystery at all, at 2:23 that is long time keyboardist Jeff Jacobs, a confirmed sideman in 1991. No Domenick again. That's the problem with this joker. The lie gets repeated enough and people start to think they saw him, but nobody can come up with any evidence. To make it even more confusing he looks the part, really looks like any rock and roll guy - especially singers that toured from 1978-2013. That's part of the scam.

Why no cease & desist from Mick? It seems well within his right, as well as easily proven. I'm sure Mick has attorneys on retainer.

If you watch the beginning of this video (promo video for Domenick Allen), it shows a still image (around 6 or 7 seconds in) of (what appears to be) Allen on stage with Mick Jones and Johnny Edwards.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hGlej5m ... kv-UgA9NYg

Also, wtf was going on with the outfits Johnny Edwards wore on stage? Grapesmugglers?

That looks photoshopped. I'll look into this further when I get a chance. Pic seems conveniently blurry then changes when it goes to close up. Not buying it. Stand by, I'd love to hear from Johnny or someone in the organization from then.

I thought it looked like the image had been altered as well.

That "stage left" position was occupied at the time by Mark Rivera (guitar/saxophone/flute/keyboards/backing vocals - now with the Billy Joel band and Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band). It does appear from my albeit minimal research that this Domenick Allen guy does sing as well as play guitar and saxophone. Playing devil's advocate, the only explanation I could possibly come up with was that Mark Rivera had to miss a show or tour leg (possibly because he was touring with Billy Joel) and Domenick Allen filled in for him. Even if that is the case, however, extending that to saying he was famous for being in Foreigner, was the lead vocalist of Foreigner, etc. would all be claims that ranged from tenuous to outright lies.

I think Mick has better things to do with his time than suing silly people like this though. Not really a Scholz's sue em all type

Mick has better things to do, but the lawyers and the record company that protects his interests has a whole staff of people with time just for this, I imagine.

I agree hopefully this gets stopped . I think a lot of people are already figuring it out in Vegas and there are posts about it on Foreigner's official website .

Just saw this on his FB, this is the ad I saw that day.Image

And no pics of him on Facebook in Foreigner, because there are none. I think the game is over - he's moved out of Vegas to Monterey and I haven't seen anymore attempts at this stunt. Loser.
