Scary thing...most schools are not equipped to handle a tornado of any strength. So sad for the families of the victims. There is no real safe place from an F5.

My daughter went to school in Lake Worth, TX. The entirety of the middle school was built under ground. It was built during the cold war days and as such was intended for a nuclear fall-out shelter. I'm pretty sure that people who live in "tornado alley" are much more in danger of being killed by a tornado than they are from a nuclear strike. Yet they don't build schools to prevent such a disaster that was seen in Oklahoma City today.

I know you can't prevent everything, and maybe I'm just pissed that elementary school aged kids died today, but it does make you think about what could prevent something like that.

Death toll now being lowered. Media just making it as exciting as possible instead of getting the facts first.
