Update on my back surgery

Postby artist4perry » Sat Jun 08, 2013 10:32 am

Just an FYI if anyone was interested...I have a tentative date for surgery on my back on June 25. They will remove a bone spur, and do a second surgery at the same time to graph two bones together. Seems I have a deformed spinal bone that caused a disc to bulge out below it due to its improper shape. These bones will be graphed together. The second part of the surgery will be done in the same incision as the first.

It might take months to heal completely but I should in time be pain free. After all the pain I have endured for years and especially the intense pain I have lived with for the last year I am so glad to be doing something to deal with it once and for all.

Please keep kind thoughts my way. I am a little scared, but this pain has kept me from doing normal every day things I used to take for granted. When I cannot stand to sit to draw for an hour we are dealing with too much. It is taking away the things I love and is occupying too much of my life.

Good luck with the surgery. The back is nothing to fool with. I stopped lifting heavy weights once I turned 40 a few years ago just being concerned of an injury.

Sincerely hope it goes well!

Thank you both. :D The doctor said he was surprised I have not had troubles since I was 15. Unfortunately I started having issues since my son was 3 (he is 22 now) and thought little of them till they had progressed and worsened through the years. The bone spur usually starts around middle age... another joy of turning 50! LOL

If you don't hear from me for a while after June 25, once I can remember I will try and get my husband Danny...COMEDYISNOTPRETTY in MR world, to give you guys an update. :D
