hell yea.. I'lll be getting this..

I liked Def Leppard back in the day. After seeing and hearing some recent clips of them it seems to me that Joe Elliott's voice is pretty much shot which is a shame.

I'm gonna put this bluray in and see if my 14 year old Onkyo receiver/amp can't crack the drywall in my house. If the thing starts smoking.....I'm due for an upgrade anyway.

Absolutely accurate, but I'm confident they will have gone back in and retracked/massaged/autotuned the vocals. No way they're going to allow fans to hear the "raw" vocals (on an official release).

This is going to be sweet although Clark is so missed by this band. And Elliott sounds fine. I was there for 2 of the shows in Vegas. Sounded better than ever. All you naysayers don't watch it!

This is a release I will be picking up. It would be near perfect if Pour Some Sugar On Me would have been left off of it, but I digress. Great setlist.

I see what your saying. The last live stuff I listened to was their Mirror Ball release and his vocal issues really stood out for me on that.

And I'm sure if Elliott laid off the cigs and hired a personal trainer his voice would be somewhat better. And Ed, you & I agree on one thing. I could go the rest of my life without hearing PSSOM and be just fine. Unless of course I'm in a titty bar hehehe!

They are actually showing this all over the country in select theaters on Oct 2nd and 8th. I'm curious to see how tickets sell for def Lep in a movie theater. I guess Beiber did it. I do have plans to go. I figure I missed them in concert last year, and after the MR after fest let down, it'll be something fun to do. I hope they do a regular US tour next year. No matter what, they know how to put on a good show. Always fun!

Yeah, ours is at the "dine in" theater at AMC, so it is a bit more than a regular movie too. But it'll be a night out! So worth it for that I guess. Cheaper than a concert I would have attended this year!

Boy, can I relate to this. I was a huge Leppard fan back in the day and absolutely LOVED "Hysteria". That said, Sugar was as gay and fruity as "Open Arms". Fucking AWFUL song and beyond annoying

After High 'N Dry and Pyromania (and the interminably long wait between albums), Hysteria was a letdown. I liked the first single "Women," because it still sounded like Lepp. Then I realized I didn't like the overly glossy production and sappy songs. They were a hard rock band no longer. They were now a pop rock band.

PSSOM was a terrific song if you were inside a tittie bar and getting a lap dance. Now, it's the one song in their entire catalog that I never want to hear again. Unless I'm in a tittie bar.

for most hard rock engineers.. Hysteria is a reference album for its sonic perfection, and Mutt Lange and the late Mike Shipley are revered engineers for their amazing skills...

It's a great reference, as in dated? Because nothing sounds more like a "late 1980s" album than that one.

Dated? Like when your listening to the Beatles it sounds like late 60's. Or Zep sounds like 70's. VH 70's vs 84? I never get that word dated as it relates to music. You make and album with what equipment is at your disposal at the time, your successful at it & the haters hate. I think it's the one album from the 80's that you can play the entire album and it sounds less like an 80's album than any of the other bands of that time frame.

Sorry, I didn't like the tendency for albums to have gobs and gobs of reverb in the era. Try listening to the first Asia album. The drums sound echoey, the bass guitar is practically nonexistent. Rush's Presto is their wimpiest sounding album thanks to the tinny guitars. That's what I mean by dated. Something can sound dated in a good way, or a bad way.

And you mentioned Van Halen 70s vs. '84. 1984 sounds great. Enter Mick Jones on 5150. He's proud of the drum sound on that album. I think it sucks.

Finally watched the show. Overall it was very good. Elliott sounded better than I thought and hearing "Don't shoot shotgun" and "Run Riot" live was the highlight. Oh, and the respect they showed Steve Clark before "Gods Of War" was awesome! I also bought the Eagles 3 disc set, History of the Eagles. Haven't got around to seeing it yet though.
