As long as there is not another Rocky movie. I think he ended that saga perfectly. No need to ruin it.

Yeah, it was confirmed a couple of months ago. I'm looking foreword to it. I just hope that he doesn't have Rambo die at the end. It's the movie that I am looking foreword to the most of anything that I know is in the works. I also look foreword to "Creed" that Stallone will be in.

He's done with the "Rocky" films. But he is supposed to be in the movie "Creed" that is supposed to be about Apollo Creed's grandson.

So, since this is supposed to be the "last time", what are the odds that the Rambo character dies in this flick?

I thought the last one was very good.
In fact I only watch the first one
(First blood) and the last . . it did seem
Like a perfect ending, hopeful its good.

Hopefully they come up with more innovative ways to kill bad guys in the movie. I'm getting sick and tired of bullets and knives. Can never get too tired of lots of fire and explosions though. Last time I saw a pretty cool movie kill was in this old movie we watched a year or so back. Can't remember the name of it but a guy was in a metal diving suit trying to kill some other guy, so the guy stuck a magnet bomb on the back side of homeboy in the diving suit. That was pretty cool.

He dies in the original novel and an ending was filmed for the first movie where he dies, so I won't be surprised.

Stallone is just hyperventilating to kill off EVERYBODY in his own historic franchise's. Rocky was supposed to die at the end of Rocky V against Tommy Gunn. That whole sequence with seeing Mickey's ghost in the street fight was supposed to signify him dying. He killed off Apollo. He killed off Adrian. He toyed with the fact of killing Rocky in Rocky Balboa as well. Even in the last Rambo movie, people thought Rambo would die and sure enough, the question now is...will Stallone kill off Rambo in LAST BLOOD?

Either you are describing the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only," or some other movie stole an idea from it.

Yep. He killed off Mickey, Apollo and Adrian, and was planning on killing Rocky in part V. And filmed the suicide ending in "First Blood."

I'm afraid that he is going to kill Rambo at the end of this one.

The guy has done some impressive work, I have enjoyed expendables as well as "Escape Plan" which I thought
was very well done.

I can only imagine the plot on this one. Rescuing his friends from the nursing home maybe?

Yes, he and some of his buddies find some magical, youth producing cocoons, in a swimming pool, belonging to aliens, then go out and conquer the world.

Stallone keeps himself in pretty damn good shape for a man his age and can pull off this kind of movie. The last Rambo movie was IMO, the best one. It was fucking awesome. And using surprise, stealth, innovation and instincts are way better than using some James Bond gadget magnet bomb.

Rambo was awesome, indeed, and James Bond films are firmly in the realm of fantasy. That last one Skyfall was really good, I must say. Best Bond movie in eons.

I love the Bond franchise overall. I'm talking HUGE fan. But I hate the Daniel Craig era.

There isn't a tremendous amount of difference between the Daniel Craig era and the very early Connery era when they were still attempting to at least be somewhat faithful to the Fleming novels.

The Brosnan era proved to be nothing special. Fave era = Moore.

I love the Connery, Moore and Brosnan eras, and I liked the Dalton era. Lazenby was alright, nothing special, but alright. I hate the Craig era, as I already said. I will celebrate when he's gone.

any particular reason? Just don't like his take on the character? Scripts? Tone? Something else? Just curious...

All of it, really.

I think that Craig is a horrible Bond. He is good for action movies, just not Bond in my opinion.
I think the scripts have sucked during the Craig era. Too many other things like no Miss Moneypenny, no Q, not using the theme song in Casino Royale, little or no gadgets, etc, etc.

Sly has been teasing fans with another Rambo installment for years. At one point the premise was Rambo and a team of commandos hunting down some genetic mutant super soldier experiment that escaped from a top secret govt laboratory. After negative feedback, Stallone wisely decided not to pursue that offbeat premise. Then he mentioned it would be Rambo going after the Mexican drug cartels. The recent Jason Statham film, Homefront, was actually written by Stallone. In interviews, Stallone admitted that the script was intended for another Rambo. The last Rambo ended with the character returning to his homestead, so the Statham film did seem like a Rambo sequel. Either way I say bring it on! I skipped the most recent Expendables film, however. That just looked shitty.

No comparison, really. The Connery films were an epoch-shaking cultural event, like The Beatles. The Craig films are pretty much forgettable action films. Skyfall, in fact, is overall a generic revenge flick. Casino Royale was somewhat memorable due to the Fleming source material. It is worth noting, however, that Pierce Brosnan advocated for the producers to adapt Casino Royale forever. Then they turn around, fire his ass, and bring in the weird looking and oafish Craig.

Longtime Bond fan here. I thought Skyfall was a series low point. Pretty much a glorified Oscar-baiting vanity piece for Judi Dench. Back in the Connery & Moore eras, the actors who played M would come and go. When Bernard Lee (the first M) fell ill, Robert Brown seamlessly stepped in. Skyfall, on the other hand, misguidedly makes the entire film one big Judi Dench swan song. At the end of the movie, Craig even cradles her in his arms and weeps. Craig is pretty much the most emasculated Bond ever. All he does is cry over women like a little bitch. I thought the 1st hour of Skyfall was solid. As soon as Javier Bardem was captured, the whole thing fell apart. This YouTube clip explains the film's failings much better than I ever could.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWfg__wKSY

Now, even the best Bond films have Grand Canyon size plot holes, but usually they have a sense of humor. Skyfall is so self important and pretentious (example: M recites Tennyson poetry) that every lapse in logic becomes magnified. This is true of the entire Daniel Craig Era, the ONLY Bond era which begs moviegoers to take the films deadly seriously. But Ian Fleming never intended for his pulp dime novels to be high art. I would take Roger Moore in an underwater car or Sean Connery wearing a jet pack or even Pierce Brosnan wind surfing a tsunami over Craigs one note brooding any day.

I hate fucking Craig as well. He fucking sucks playing Bond. He doesn't have that smooth, suave flair that playing Bond requires. Craig is dull and boring. I did like Moore, but I'll take Brosnan any day over the rest of them.
