There is a problem with your analogy here. All the examples that you are giving here are responses to people that directly spoke out or directly showed public support against Donald Trump himself. Please show me where Barron Trump said something or attacked them and they were merely responding to his personal involvement. Clearly this is about people attacking someone that has nothing to do with the what they are protesting. Again, no matter how you want to slice it or spin it, a CHILD is not responsible for the actions of the parent and to attack said CHILD to goat and get under the parent's skin is "deplorable" and a sign of desperation. Your attempt to legitimize the actions of those that attacked an INNOCENT CHILD is disturbing.

Trump went after the wife of Ted Cruz in order to get under his skin...and it worked. HE opened up this can of worms and now he has to eat them. EVERYTHING is fair game - because he made it that way.

In addition, for DECADES Republicans have written insults towards Chelsea Clinton. Even in this very forum you can go to the Obama thread and read some modern examples...but it dates back to when Chelsea was a kid also. So, excuse me for saying you are full of shit and want a double standard.

For me, Baron looks like a spoiled, and privileged, mamma's boy who constantly looks bored and not wanting to be in public. I don't think he has some type of weird disease, or whatever.

You are a sick people.

Yeah, it was such a funny joke when people died of bad water tainted with lead in Flint, MI. I bet they really laugh at such jokes. Maybe all those dead people voted for Trump and that's why he won the state.

And, BTW, there was once a big fight about lead...that there was an acceptable amount that the body could tolerate and the lead in people's bodies did not come from car exhaust from leaded gasoline, or paint or other industrial uses. The great majority of scientists believed this to be false and said so. But, industry, specifically the mining industry fought this with their own scientists. This went on for years until it was finally widely accepted that lead was incredibly toxic (which has been known for thousands of years) and NO amount of lead is acceptable. So, gasoline, paint, pipes, etc..all had to get the lead out.

The same exact situation is happening right now with climate change. Those who study it KNOW man is causing it. Industry, especially the fossil fuel industry, does not like it so they prop up their own made up science with bought and paid for scientists to back it up.

Border fences work

Yes, border fences work. And that is exactly why the political class is so stridently intent on opposing the construction of a full double-layered fence or any effective barrier at the border.

One of the most pervasive arguments against a border fence is the puerile nursery chant, “show me a 20-foot fence, I’ll show you a 21-foot ladder.” Even 2016 presidential candidate Rick Perry was oft to advance this intellectually dishonest argument. The problem is they can’t show us the 21-foot ladder. The border fence that conservatives are advocating has worked in San Diego and it has worked in Israel. It will work for much of the rest of the border.

Well, since you used such an unbiased and scholarly source as Conservative Review.com

Let's see what MIT has to say:
"(D)rump might say it would be worth the cost since border crossings are out of control. However, because of several factors, including improvements in the Mexican economy and increases in Border Patrol staffing, fewer people are making the attempt. Officers caught 331,000 people crossing the Mexican border in fiscal 2015, less than one-fifth the number in 2000."

https://www.technologyreview.com/s/602494/bad-math-props-up-trumps-border-wall/

So, you can't show cause and effect it's the wall that's stopping them. Also, note that MIT expects the cost to be as high as $40 billion, not including maintenance.

Pew Research (who Drump referred to as the organization that supposedly said there were millions of illegal voters, even though they didn't) says this:

"The drop in Mexican emigration to the U.S. during and since the Great Recession has at least three main causes. First, there was a decrease in the number of jobs available in the U.S. to Mexican immigrants, particularly in construction. Second, since the mid-2000s there has been stricter enforcement of immigration laws at the U.S.-Mexico border (with the number of Border Patrol agents now above 17,000) and an increase in the number of deportations of Mexican immigrants. Third, there are demographic changes underway in Mexico that could be affecting would-be immigrants. Today, a declining share of the population in Mexico is made up of people ages 15 to 29 (24.9% in 2014 versus 29.4% in 1990) – and immigrants are more likely to migrate at younger ages, particularly between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. This reflects the decline of the fertility rate in Mexico since the 1970s, which has led to a decades-long process of population aging in Mexico.

As Pew Research Center reported last fall in an analysis of Mexican and U.S. data, migration flows from Mexico had recently reversed for the first time since the 1940s. Between 2009 and 2014, some 870,000 Mexican immigrants arrived in the U.S. while about 1 million left. This change followed on a five-year period of net-zero migration from Mexico after several decades of large inflows of Mexican immigrants into the U.S."

So, we're going to put up a $40 billion wall that will keep more from leaving than are coming in? Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, they can be shut down, if and when the leak is detected. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-pipelines-colonial-analysis-idUSKCN1200FQ

"A Reuters review of U.S. federal records shows that sensitive technology designed to pick up possible spills is about as successful as a random member of the public like Aldridge finding it, despite efforts from pipeline operators.

In the past 20 months, Colonial has had eight pipeline spills across its 5,500-mile (8,851 km) fuel pipeline system. None of them were uncovered by the company's primary leak-detection system, according to federal data."

Drump's staffers are trying to figure out how they can get through the next four years without him giving any interviews. What a dumpster fire. His obsession with his popularity just reveals how thin-skinned, shallow and delusional this guy really is.

He essentially said in this interview, "Hey, you know that thing I said on Twitter and that I've repeated a number of times? Yeah, I never said that."

You'd have to go back a little more than 8 years to find a president that didn't talk about himself all the time. You think the last guy didn't have an ego? Read any speech and count the number of "I's". He had just as big of an ego, but he was more sly about it.

I wonder if today's politics are such that it takes that ego to get there. Hillary certainly praised herself a lot. Maybe it's just the state of things.

Muir's interview with Trump last night was interesting. He referred to one of his (unnamed) opponents in the race as a combatant. I'm not sure if he meant to use that word, but if he did, it tells a lot about the man. He did refer to the letter Obama left him as "long, complex and very thoughtful," though he wouldn't share anything from it. At the very least, maybe he learned from that letter to act a little more "Presidential."

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/symbolic-doomsday-clock-moves-closer-to-midnight/ar-AAmhcYy?OCID=DELLDHP

Symbolic 'Doomsday Clock' moves closer to midnight

Comments by US President Donald Trump and a "darkening global security landscape" have made the world less safe, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists warned Thursday, moving its symbolic "Doomsday Clock" 30 seconds closer to midnight.

The clock -- which serves as a metaphor for how close humanity is to destroying the planet -- was last changed in 2015, from five to three minutes to midnight.

It is now set at two and a half minutes to midnight.

The decision to move the clock or not is led by a group of scientists and intellectuals, including 15 Nobel laureates.

The minute-hand on the clock was moved amid concerns about "a rise in strident nationalism worldwide, President Donald Trump's comments on nuclear arms and climate issues, a darkening global security landscape that is colored by increasingly sophisticated technology, and a growing disregard for scientific expertise," the group said in a statement.

The Doomsday Clock was created in 1947. It has changed 19 times since then, ranging from two minutes to midnight in 1953 to 17 minutes before midnight in 1991.

"Never before has the Bulletin decided to advance the clock largely because of the statements of a single person," two scientists at the Bulletin, Lawrence Krauss and David Titley, said in an opinion piece published by The New York Times.

"But when that person is the new president of the United States, his words matter."
