Anyone want to help me try to identify a song?

Schitt's Creek. S04 E04. About a third of the way through the episode in the diner. The conversation makes it quite impossible to hear, but the melody is there. There is a line that is more noticeable at the end of the scene. It's a Canadian show, but the music often comes from all over. It's Perry-esque, at least from the bits I can hear.

in the very very bits you can hear the song, yeah it sounds a little perry ish.
but wasnt everyone in the eighties.
my guess even the guy that picked the song for the background didnt even know it.
Probably didnt have to pay royalties
