You guys are so biased, and you'll never admit it.
First, Cavill is not safe in his job. He is not where Christopher Reeve was back in the day. He was in the moderately successful MOS, a polarizing (and BAD) BvS and a BS addition to the flop of Superfriends. Add to that the fact that Afleck's future has been in constant flux since his version of 'The Batman" went haywire....and now it is a "young batman" origin story that he won't even be in.
So, if they let Afleck go, or he leaves, and Cavill demands too much....why not just let him go and reboot both Batman and Superman with new actors? It makes perfect sense since the DCEU is now being rebranded anyway...and BvS is what started the pollution in the DCEU litterbox.
And, Shazam is a COMEDY. The same type of slapstick crap that you all complain about in the Antman and Guardians movies. They are not even promoting Shazam as having much drama. It is a comedy aimed at teens in the same way that Spiderman:Homecoming was.
You mentioned Grace talking about Aquaman. She is the one who describes it as "Superman meets Tom Hanks 'Big'" or a CBM version of Elf, or DC's kiddie version of Deadpool. She liked the trailer but has been skeptical if it will have any type of wide appeal...and the suit looks AWEFUL. I agree with all of that, except I think it looks like "Big combined with Greatest American Hero." Since the suit obviously didn't come with an instruction book, or they lost it...and they have to do the same type of jokes. "Oh, wow, look at the crazy way I try to fly!" "Oh, wow, I'm bullet proof!" "let me wear his hat and I'll have a vision!" "Think of 'white paper' and I can have telekinisis!" It's the exact same scenerio.
You guys are complete hypocrites for the way you prop up Shazam and its slapstick stuff. It's even worse since that is the majority of what they are promoting it to be...a bunch of "Greatest American Hero, from a 12yr olds perspective" jokes.
