Better Get Greta Van Fleet Forum Queued Up

Postby Aaron » Sat Feb 23, 2019 3:43 pm

Mac,

What's up with the lack of coverage. Over here in the USA they are next coming of Jesus on a pogo stick. I don't get the lack of coverage on the main page. What's up with that? They're the best band I've heard in decades and no coverage? Man I've loved you since you started. What's up with the lack of coverage on possibly the best band in my lifetime. I follow the front page and there's nothing in the same zip code from my view. If I've missed anyone let me know.

Man I think you might be missing the launch of a big deal. I'll take them over any band currently touring.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for keeping the front page rolling and for being real always,

Aaron

When this band sheds their Zepp wannabe shtick and starts doing something...else...then maybe more people who aren't 20 y.o. (and you) will care.

Really? I don't get you man but that's cool. I"m not 20 something, I'm 50 something. Say what you wanna say, they are rolling. I'd I'll be buying tickets when they're close. I don't get LZ deal, I've listened to LZ and don't get them. I do get GFV.

I appreciate your input without a bunch of BS. Thanks, I appreciate your feedback.

I am getting closer to 50 myself and enjoy this band. To me good music is good music I don't care who they do or don't sound like. If i like it what does it matter? I have the first album and love it, gotta pick up the recent one but Walmart and Target here no longer carry CD's so I'll have to get it from Amazon or somewhere else.

The second one is good too. I picked both up on Ebay for under $10 each.

Here's my take on them... at least on the noticboard, it's a love/hate thing with them. I get the LZ connection and agree that they need to grow their sound some, and build their own identity, but at the end of the day, they are a ROCK band getting some respect and noticed in a day when pretty much nobody pays attention to anything but rap, hip hop, or crappy pop. If you don't like their sound I respect that opinion, but I also find it pretty funny that so many on the site pan them when 95% of what everyone loves in this genre...sounds the same...everyone is copying off everyone else. To each their own.

Good post Marco. I've been through a few LZ tracks to refresh myself and other than a few innuendos, I do not get the comparison. GVF is killer in every position and I love Josh as a singer. I would put him in my top 5 all time which includes Steve Perry and Bon Scott. I think they're real but opinions vary. Time will tell the story. However, I'll be there enjoying when they get closer with an assigned seat! I'm too old for general admission.

Man I love you and you're right to an extent, but not everyone is a Fakebook fk. Better have a look here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bl4Jc9lcAg

They are on fire. And I'm not sure about attendance but it looks 50k peeps big. Might be worth dragging people in. They are the buzz with our age group and kids. It couldn't hurt brother. You're watching Bon Scott with AC CD at the beginning brother!

I hear a bit of ac/cd, a bit of black crowes, a small bit of zep, and a big bit of their own shit. They are masters on every position. That's what makes them great. No fake as shit, just real.

I'm not sure man. But whether it's a forum or facebook group, it's the same thing. Adjust and move. Either way, GVF are making noise here. More than any other band I've seen in 20 years.

They're from Frankenmuth Michigan, about 40 minutes from me. Not much of a fan of their sound. Can we only stand a few songs in a row from Zepplin too. All starts sounding the same after awhle.

I once tried to write a term paper with Song Remains The Same on in the background. It was a slow decent into madness and I eventually wanted to murder people.

I've listened to their stuff a few times and didn't care for it, I can't get past the screeching rabid cat lead vocal. They're trying so hard to imitate the 70s hard rock scene that it sounds cheesy, unoriginal and forced.
