Tesla's new album "In The Now"

Postby Jovi Fan 70 » Tue Mar 09, 2004 12:13 am

Just wanted to get your feedback regarding the band's new album.
I really like it myself. I'm glad to hear that they're playing "Caught in a Dream" on the radio stations!!!

I haven't heard it yet, but from what I read it's supposed to be great...but then that's also what I read about Brides Of Destruction...talk about major disappointment...

Tesla

Killer album! The best of 2004, so far!

Tesla was one of the underated bands of the 80's.

BTW, I thought this was an LA board? Tesla is from Sacramento.

Tesla's music is hard for me to get into.
Takes a while to like their new stuff.

With teh reviews that this CD was getting, I expected a lot, and got it ASAP, and was dissappointed.

Listened a few times, and sort of dug a few tracks and slotted it.

Then a couple of weeks later I put it in again and I really like it now.

Easily the best track for me is What A Shame.
Other great tracks
Caught In A Dream
Recognize
Miles Away
Words Can't Explain
Look @ Me

Definately get this one.
Best of 2004?
Wouldn't go that far, but it rocks :)
I'm contemplating, thinkin' about thinkin'
It's overrated, just get another drink and
Watch me come undone

I hear it's done really well in sales.
Someone posted this on a website:

Soundscan numbers are only remotely accurate for top 40. Most stores that sell metal cds don't report to soundscan. And most of the ones that do...For every copy they sell, it counts as 8 copies in the soundscan numbers to try to account for all of the shops that don't report to soundscan. But far less than 1 out of every 8 underground shops report... So as you can see, its a jumbled mess...and these numbers are totally useless.

Is this true?

What radio stations play the new Tesla? None here in Nashville do. Tell these guys to play it!
I wish they'd tour here.

I listened to "Into the Now" and really liked it now that I'm used to the sound. Never been a fan of Tesla, but this is the best music they've put out IMO. They successfully put together the old and the new. Would've like a few fast-paced rockers, but this will do quite nicely. Probably won't be my best of 2004, but will be in the top 10.

Yes Tommy went back into rehab, but just a few days ago it was announced that he's out and going to be rejoining the band.
