No European tour for Kiss?

Postby Serendipity » Tue May 25, 2004 6:32 am

Just as I was beginning to consider to visit another Kiss show, it seems the decision has already been made for me... Oh well, I suppose I've not been enthusiastic enough...

From BW&BK
According to a posting at Kissfans.de, it seems, that KISS' plans for a European Tour have failed. Both, promoters and the booking agency have confirmed, that there were plans for booking a tour in early September, but have been canceled. Supposedly there was also talk about a gig with the Berlin Symphony Orchester in Berlin. Promoters were simply not willing to pay what the band was asking for. Other bands constantly tour Europe and never want to miss the worlds biggest market of almost 1 billion possible concert goers. The promoters claimed, with the bands shrunken popularity they did not want to take the risk, since Kiss have been absent from the media and music scene for too long. In fact, Kiss have also not played in South America and Canada in many years. With a handful of Australian and Japansese dates and just 38 US dates to follow, the current tour might be one of the shortest in their 30-year history.

They ended up giving away the tickets here, so I'd say it's definitely a financial issue.
