Isn't he a bit of an introvert anyway? I've seen Night Ranger a couple of times and he's usually tucked away towards the side of the stage.

It is nothing new to have a keyboardist and/or guitarist to play off to the side or behind the stage. Ozzy Osborne has his keyboardist off to the side and the times I have seen Cheap Trick in concert, the keyboardist was off to the side.

The funniest "ghost keyboardist" tale I've ever heard of has to go to Kim Bullard's (did I spell his name correctly?) status as unofficial second keyboardist on Yes' Big Generator tour. I'm not sure if the info's 100% accurate, but apparently he was offered $70K to do the tour onstage (and to have his presence explained, etc.), or for a cool $100K, he could do it all from offstage (or underneath, if the band was 'in the round'). I was always wondering how Tony Kaye was able to pull off some of Wakeman's licks - I guess he really wasn't.
