sounds like another rush job to me. i just don't get it. say they played to 100,000 fans on this tour and gave it away...what percentage is going to pay for another copy just because of 2 songs? and why cheat the people that paid top dollar for the same thing just months earlier?

i had high hopes when neal said they may rerecord, change some of the tracks around, etc...but it sounds like another scrape-it-together-and-put-a-new-wrapper-on-it rush to get something out there job.

but you never know, i know journey says they don't care about the "numbers" but need an official release just to get it out there, so maybe that's what this is all about anyway. who knows. not me.

Maybe this was Sanctuary's deal...if we put it out, we want to put it out as close to the end of the tour as possible. That means "NO re-mix, NO other 'new' tracks, we take what we got and we run with it!"

I, for one, am HAPPY that they are not re-mixing the tracks. But I would have LOVED a re-mix of Red13!! But it doesn't bother me that muh because I love Red13 anyway...AND they could always do that at a alater date and ofer it as a download from their site if they wanted. OR, they could finally get a new live CD out there and add the re-mixed Red13 as a bonus to THAT! OR, they could just gives a more new material! All of which, I would be happy with! ;)

Jeremy I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the Sanctuary version of Generation as a thrown together rush job. First of all, the songs are LONG in the can and second of all from everything I've observed that is NOT the way John Kalodner would stand for things to done with his label's name on it. I just think he and the band finally stood up for the US album buyer.

Also to another argument that broke out, Neal spoke of remixing Red13 as a completley separate project from anything having to do with Generations.

The prolly figure that ultimately it's just not pragammatic to rent studio time, hire a producer and record new tracks.
That was done with Arrival and it still flopped.
So, instead, they will just save money and slap on the pre-existing foreign bonus tracks.
That's the only possible rationalization I can see for it's expeditious release onto store shelves.
