Andrew, I could always start a new thread, "Do you wish Steve perry were the lead singer of Journey?

or, Who is better, Perry or the new guy?

see? It's all good dude.

I think you are off on the Stern thing Andrew. he is mega huge, likes Neal, Augeri is from NYC, and Stern is the biggest radio personality of all time. Have you heard the show? Can you get it over there down Under? on the net maybe?

Andrew, it's time for a new interview.....TONIGHT!!

My take

I don't think Journey and Stern should mix either - and not sure why either camp would want to....

Personally, I think Stern sucks.

I used to listen to him a while back, and he was hilarious. But he has since modified his content and now it seems like the show is all about sex. Take that out, and you no longer have anything of value. He has influenced a lot of the DJs here in SA, and now they do the same kind of bullshit. Its obvious they worship at the Stern altar. I wouldn't want my children listening to that crap.

Perhaps I should re-think that :)

I said that a couple months ago when there were half dozen sticky topics here, and they were starting to do it in Styx (Stycky Styx topycs).

I don't think it's bad right now...but it could get there quick.

Goddammit Eric....The exposure is so GREAT, it would help current, masculine Journey very well.. Stern really doesn't need help, but an interview with Journey would replace an episode of "Anal Ring Toss," which is quite good frankly.

ERIC, I am joshin with you, and know you are a man of faith, and I deeply respect that..But Howard is funny dude, you gotta admit. You wouldn't want to paint girls breast different colours during Easter week? Or play the "Homeless Game" or sing a "duet with Beetlejuice?"

Update: from Sternshow-Copy and pasted from email
Dean,

I have been a fan since the Infinity days, in fact that has been one of my favorite albums ever, by anyone. I have long wanted to get Journey into studio with us, but after Howard had a quarrel with Steve Perry back in 1981, they were shelved. I have followed the resurgence of the band, and yes I am going to the Ralph Lauren show. You cast a great idea, and we do have space for them. It is difficult at times to book bands due to management, contracts previous engagements et al. Yes, Howard still loves Neil and I have got him listening to me for an appearance. The problem with having the band play our show as you know it will be an early a.m. performance. Not all singers are willing to do that; You think Augeri would maybe go for it?

Anyway, I need to get back to work, but will keep you posted. I certainly hope this can be accomplished.

Take care, Dean

Gary

No, not at all...He does know "of me." About 2 years back, I was involved in a really bad Amtrak accident, where we just annihilated a Safeway truck to bits..I was injured pretty bad and out of work for 3 months....so I called everyday at 300AM Pacific time(he starts at 600AM NY time). So he knows me a little.

I don't expect anything, but you never know. SOMEONE has to try and market these guys!

Deano, that is so cool. I hope Augeri would be up to the task. Being on the Stern show is monumental, no matter what you think of him. Stern's animosity toward Perry could make for funny interviews!

STERN: I'm so glad you dumped that p**** who used to sing for you guys.

NEAL: No comment!!

"Man of Faith"? Naw....just think Stern's act is dopey and stale....but I do appreciate the potential exposure aspect.
