Don't count on it. Thanks, NC! I thought I saw that before.

If ohsherrie would get past her infatuation with a 56 year old man, and had bothered to read the board, instead of coming here for the sole purpose of creating controversy, she would have known that.

Wouldn't you, ohsherrie?

Actually Yak, when I come here I read all the current topics. I just don't have time to come here every day, or even every week at times, and I don't have time to read every topic on the first page. I try to get through the ones that have had new posts within the past few days. I'm sorry if I brought up an old, sore subject, but it wasn't old or sore to me. I really didn't think it would be all this controversial either, but how is one to know when dealing with unstable people who read conspiracy into everything with which they don't agree? Does the word paranoid ring a bell(or do you hear them all the time)? :D

Ummmmmmm, what does Steve's age have to do with anything?

ohsherrie wrote:If you really feel that way and can acknowledge, as you surely must, that it was Steve's voice that made the name Journey famous

An integral factor?
-Of course.
Not the sole reason for their success.

I love how you simply diminish the other members talents.
Steve would always eagerly talk of how Jon is a brilliant writer and how Jon taught him so much about writing.
However, of course, in Perryloony Tune Land, Steve Perry must hold ALL the talent.

ohsherrie wrote:then why is it so important to you that they use that name now?

That's not for me or you to arbitrate.
Neal and Jon wrote a preponderance of Journey's material and they can legally do as they see fit with it.

ohsherrie wrote:Why must they use that name if it isn't even that sound that you want?

What sound would that be?

ohsherrie wrote:You may answer as a Schon fan

First off, I'm not exclusively a Schon fan. I'm a Journey fan.

ohsherrie wrote:the sound that became synonymous with the name Journey isn't the sound he wanted then or that you appear to want now, so why not rename it and go with another sound?

What sound are you talking about?

ohsherrie wrote: They wouldn't have that problem if they didn't have the name. It makes not one jot of logical sense to me. :?

Too bad. Neal & Jon do hold the name. Deal with it.

I can't be here all the time either, but I try to read threads before I respond to them. Not that you would have responded to a positive Journey concert review anyway. So you play dumb and bring your trite and transparent "Just had to share this article " here. Then play dumb that you didn't know it was here. Then you say you read all currents topics. Sorry Bubbles but you can't have it both ways.

What's the paranoid comment for? I didn't get it, so please explain. And fyi, I am not unstable or and I don't hear bells all the time (but I bet you and your friends hear faux wedding bells quite often)
I would suggest watching it from now on when you indirectly insult people in such a way.

Nothing I suppose, if you are a 56 year old woman. Nothing I suppose, if you like 10 year coffee breaks. Some of us actually have to work for a living, more days than not...and we also manage to have a life...all at the same time. But "your man" I suppose is entitled to do whatever he wants...whenever he wants...just because he gave you some pop tunes in the 80's.

You can take everything out of context and spin it to your heart's content, because you are laughable. You are standing up for a 56 year old man, who should be standing on his own two feet, and he doesn't even care.

Everything has to be YOUR way or the highway. There's no in between for you. There's no middle ground. If somebody begs to differ just one iota, they're wrong, and you're right. And you don't want anything to do with them.

So go have some enjoyment listening to worn out songs from the 80's. :D I've heard Journey in 2005, and I'll take them, and Steve Augeri, any day, over what you think you have. :D

And FYI, Neal doesn't just "wail and shred" as you put it. Give a listen to "i on u," that is, if you can stop for one minute calling Neal fans "Schonieloonies." Your personal vendetta against Neal is because he has a brain, and decided he had a life to live, so he and Journey moved on, and away from, the control freak. One of Neal's best decisions ever, in my book.

Hey Steve, good luck with the Pack CD. Break a hip! erm.. leg.

Yes indeed. These guys MUST'VE given the store away as Herbert claims. This, and the fact that Charlize theron bypassed JOURNEY and went right to the session backing vocalist for use of DSB.

Agree, The Cause. The use of the word "was" was calculated. As was and I'm paraphrasing, his deployment of these veiled jabs at Augeri and Deen (what's his loyalty to Smitty anyhow, he canned his ass?!) on the fan asylum interview:

"The band (refusing to call them 'Journey') may (may?) be on the road this summer jamming (calling a major headlining tour of mostly 3 hr shows 'jamming' instead of really playing Journey shows) with 'X' members (christ, no explanation needed) but I will not be partaking."

In all fairness, Charlize wrote to Perry, but he still had to approach Journey. The difference is that Journey wants Journey music out there at every chance they have. Perry only wants Journey music out there when it benefits him.

because through all that Monster hoopla I never heard or read of Cain Schon being mentioned, much less thanked.

I recall Steve saying that Neal and Jon did have to sign their permission for the song to be used.

Agree with The Cause also. Agree with RedJoe that the use was calculated. One more reason why Perry is known as a Prick in the business! What's the big deal having some old music on a sleazy TV show anyway?

"The band (refusing to call them 'Journey') may (may?) be on the road this summer jamming (calling a major headlining tour of mostly 3 hr shows 'jamming' instead of really playing Journey shows) with 'X' members (christ, no explanation needed) but I will not be partaking."

Detect a note of bitterness there? It must be hard these days, having lost control of a such a huge entity as Journey, and not have anything with which to replace it.

Perry is a self-righteous, self-serving whiner.
