Why only one Deen tune?
Did they think it wouldn't entertaining enough to watch a guy sedentarily singing from behind his kit?
What a loss!
I was looking frwrd to having an up to date quality dvd rendition of Suzanne, Happy to Give, Keep on Runnin, etc etc.

Deen has got to be having some sort of throat problem to not be singing more than he has lately. Didn't Neal supposedly say he'd sing six songs at this show. I thought a few weeks ago someone said Deen had strep, then something later about resting his voice for the DVD shoot.
Suzanne and Happy To Give are two I have no interest in hearing, other than to hear how he does them maybe. But Where Were You would have been awesome, he does a little of his own thing with it rather than staying true to Perry's rendition as he usually does.

I think so too. Deen must be struggling vocally. But that was a pretty good setlist.

5 tracks from "Generations" is good.

5 pre-Perry tracks.

21 "hits".

No Santana-jam.

1 TBF tune.

But no Arrival tunes. I guess that is ok because they already have Higher Place on the 2001 DVD.

Steve always owns the rockers in a way Perry never did IMO.
I'd prefer to hear Steve on anything they do, but thought Deen was great on WWY and STR.
I was most disappointed that Deen sang Mother, Father and Patiently instead of Steve. Deen's great but doesn't sing with the emotion that Steve does.

I'd be willing to bet we won't get the whole concert on this DVD for obvious reasons, not to mention there are duplicate songs which are already on the 2001 DVD.

Yeah, but like the concerts themselves, those songs have to be on there...
I would like to think that the reason they played extended was to ensure enough footage for a dvd...but if all the footage is good, I hope they release a 2 disc DVD.

Two discs???? Well that would take this band's behind the scenes people an extra year....IMO...the promotion for Journey is the worst I have ever seen. Christ, if not for the internet we wouldn't know they were touring, there's a CD on the way, and Christ...Perry is no longer with the band!!!!!
