I agree. This was the ultimate Journey tour for me, being a fan of
pre-Perry Journey and of the new stuff. I hope future tours focus more on new material, after this tour, it'll be hard to go back to the greatest hits tours again. And what would be the point, they need to keep moving in the direction they have finally taken a step toward.

jrnyman28 wrote:I understand. Add to that the new arrangement of LTS! UGH! (from what I have heard).

You maaake meeee weeeeeeppppp, and waaaw--nnnaauuh diiiiiiiiie......
BBBBBBBB Baby, BBBBBB-Baby, Uhhhhgggghhh...oh oh oh
or something like that. And people get on Neal's case for carrying on too much??

jrnyman28 wrote:I am sure there has been a lot of acting from all members of the band at times. All the ROR interviews seem likely to be "fronting". I wonder if some of the TBF interviews were also. But I wouldn't expect any different. These men are professionals.

True, you have to respect that they have never been one of those bands who air their dirty laundry in public.

I can't wait to get this DVD, especially after seeing them in Rhode Island over the summer for the first time!

Exactly. I understand "retiring" the pre-Perry material after this tour. Next, start to ween some of the 'standards' in favor of newer material.

That is why BTM is actually a little bit of a surprise. Sadly, Neal DID start to vent in public a lot. But he was pretty good at sticking with feelings without divulging specifics.

You're dreaming. Until they have a hit on the radio again, Neal and Jon will stick to playing 2-3 newer songs per show AT MOST.

More like wishful thinking!

I honestly believe that is what should happen though...

I meant to say CD. Sorry. When I went through the line NealIsGod, I was told they were out of CDs. I was a little bummed out and felt a bit slighted but I completely forgot about it after the show. The band was better than I ever imagined.
I'm going to pick up the Cd tommorrow and take a look at the DVDs they have released in the past. Gotta get caught up!

Absolutely, the FULL un-edited concert! The show Herbie describes in that interview...the LAST show of that tour, filmed in Japan. Those of us that have seen the DEPARTURE tour can only tell you just how freakin' INCREDIBLE it was and I also believe it is a significant chapter in Journey's history...
