Oh please. How does Neal fit into this? Sony coaxed Perry into calling Jon about re-teaming with Journey (in return for promoting one last FTLOSM single). At that point, Neal was ready to move on with a whole new Journey lineup involving Chalfant and Rolie. How did Neal in any way impede Perry from doing the music he wanted to do?

Maybe that's because he knows he's the guy at fault.
Ever think of that?
The perpetrator of a crime doesn't speak ill of others, he keeps his mouth shut and lays low until suspicions fade away.

Neal and Jonathan didn't feign a hip injury and renege on a multi-million dollar advance on a tour.

Is THIS better?

No, that's not better, as you are still showing your ignorance. It was Sony (as verified by the FTLOSM drummer, Moyes Lucas) that contacted and convinced Perry to contact Jonathan about re-teaming with Journey. As Moyes confirms on his website, Perry was coaxed into re-joining Journey under the impression that Sony would promote one last FTLOSM single.
Neal or Journey management didn't contact Steve Perry.
Go brush up on your history, lady.
Your God sits on his keester all day collecting royalties because HE ALONE chooses to do so.
Deal with it.

No, not whatever.
You were caught propagating lies and if you had even a scintila of integrity you would own up to it.

You can't blame Journey management for causing Steve to depart his FTLOSM bandmates in 1995.
Maybe you forget, but at that juncture in time Journey wasn't even in existence.
What Journey management?
Fool.

That just isn't true. It was SONY who pushed both Journey and Perry back together. They made the deal with Perry, according to Moyes anyway, to release the single if he would do Journey...and they told Journey they wouldn't accept the Rollie/Chalfant version of the band...because they wanted the lineup that sold the most albums.

Journey management (in other words, Herbie) were not involved. In fact, I would think Herbie would have prererred the Rolie/Chalfant version.

Finaly, the 'reunion' talk with Perry didn't happen right after FTLOSM started to 'get off the ground'. It was way into it, after Perry started canceling and recanceling shows because of "asthmatic bronchitis". I would say it started happening after FTLOSM started going down the toilet. Convenient timing for Perry.

Exactly what I said.
Of course, Sngrck didn't concede to being caught proliferating lies, but recreantly headed for the hills.

She edited her post and replaced what she had wrote with the curtly unsatisfying "WHATEVER".
Initially she had put up a legitimate defense and argued her stance, unfortunately, it was still factually inaccurate. Like many Perryfanatics, she made up her own revisionist history where Perry is absolved of all wrongdoing and of course, everything is somehow Neal Schon's fault.
Here was her initial argument before she edited it:

Either way she is wrong. Perry leaving the FTLOSM band was neither the fault of Neal nor Journey's management (who actually didn't even exist at that juncture in time). After I proved her wrong, she changed her post to simply "whatever". What a coward. A person with even a modicum of class would have owned up to their mistakes.

I have done likewise, comrade.
The last thing I'd do is resort to editing my posts to make it seem like I wasn't directly caught in a lie.
That's just pathetic.

I honestly think Neal has been the one to offer the olive branch..He has said many times Perry can come sit in, Perry should be heard again, etc.

Perry meanwhile has jabbed Journey, saying about DSB.."The fans really know know what Journey was all about." That pissed me off. If there is NO Journey now, he should refuse his 1/6 cut paycheck..bastard.

I don't think that rock edge is what most people would buy a Steve Perry cd for. He's about melody and emotion. That's what his fans want.

I agree that would be what people would expect, so would I. I wouldn't want Perry with a rock edge either, it would be unnatural and forced, which is why I'm glad he's no longer with Journey.
My reply was to your statement about Perry not having what we want to hear, it was only to say that he never quite had what I wanted to hear, a rock singer vibe or attitude. Journey finally has a singer with both the voice and the rock influence.

I think those "olive branches" were only offered surrounding the Bammies WOF and HWOF things, it only made PR sense for him to do that. Of course he would LOVE to have Steve make an appearance at one of their shows, that would be the best PR he could ever hope for.

Dean, I really think you read to much into innocent remarks like that. It could really be that he meant "Journey as he knew it". How could he possibly comment on what the band is about now? He's not part of it.

Is your Perry Beacon video an amateur version, Joe?

It is indeed a bootlegged amatuer version. The sound is plenty good, though and Perry voice, or no voice, brought the house down. And he had a blast doing it.

That's a good one but I wish the quality of the Memphis boot was better, I think Steve had even more fun on that one. It's the one where the guy runs up out of the audience and goes after the tail coat when it comes down. Hilarious stuff.

First you say Perry sounded "damn good" in Chicago and now this?
JUST GO AWAY ALREADY!
I can't stand those who choose to dellude themselves and live in denial.
Of course, Perry specifically chose the phrasing "the kids think Journey WAS awesome" in the article.
Why else would he have made that demarcation if he wasn't trying to imply something?

Yes, TNC he frequently chooses cryptic phrasing that does not hold up to the scruitiny of our bitterness detectors.

Well, to be honest, Perry used to make very cryptic satements. Remember last years Birthday Thanks. It was debated for quite a while what he might have actually meant. But I think he does that on purpose so no one can "hold him to it". I guess that is what intrigues me about his statement that the White Sox have helped him through a tough time and that he might record something. The last time he did that was on BTM, but he said it in such a way as to give himself an easy out. This time the only out is the fact that he said "maybe". I sure hope he does, but it seems like he really leaves his fans hanging when he says that and then never follows through. I hope this time is different.
