Totally.

It's really not that hard to pick apart. There were at least a few spots where he laid it out regarding his feelings for Journey and Steve Augeri and I'm glad he felt he could be so candid, including the use of the expletives.
Folks, if you're waiting for the Perry Only people to acknowledge the gaff on Perry's part for using that type of language, you're wasting your time. Where Perry is concerned (we would be told) he would only use that language when he felt the need and to emphasize a point.
So, he used off-color language and ragged on Journey a few times and Steve Augeri at least once all in the same interview. Not bad.
It will be funny when all of these guys are in their late 60s and they'll STILL be talking about how they don't talk and how one screwed the other. Man, I sure hope they all get to a point where they can laugh at the whole thing!
When Perry said "we aren't speaking," I would have pushed him on that one - "Why AREN'T you guys talking, Steve? Why the distance between each other? Is it worth it? What's it accomplishing?"
I'd really love to hear Perry say the truth - "Well, I didn't think Journey should go on without me and I had no interest in being on that merry-go-round anymore. Since Neal and the guys weren't willing to put Journey on the shelf, then I got PO'd and I still am."
The one thing that I find kind of funny is the fact that Perry states that he was given an ultimatum, yet in Behind the Music, Jon says that he went to Steve and essentially said that they wanted to go on. We all know Steve's response was basically, "If you go, there's no comin' back." That doesn't sound like an ultimatum to me. It sounds like Jon was asking Steve's permission and even later, Jon (referring to that situation) spoke of how much class Perry exhibited by not dragging this thing into the courts.
Either Steve's memory is hazy or he's just plain lying about how it all happened. That's a shame either way.

Now Fred, I just don't think we have everything in sequence or totality as told by Mr. Perry. We do not know what comes first...the ultimatium or the phone call, do we? I'm thinking the phone call first and then finally Neal said it's over and there is no coming back. I think he just left off parts of the exchange of words and did not necessarily put them in order.
Or, maybe his memory just is not as good as it use to be. But I do believe that someone told him he's out and he was out. Talk about a blow to the ego. It just seems so silly at this point. There comes a time when a grudge isn't more than just ego and what good does that do for you when you look back at life and say...darn...what difference did it really make. You sure can't take your pride with you or the money. I think I'd rather have peace of mind.

And Columbia would sign them and everybody would be happy including Deano who wants to kill us all....hahahahahaha

Hmm. Unbelievable. You manage to just skate over the insults right Sherrie? It's ok to bash people...if your Steve Perry.
He owes Augeri an apology, and Augeri owes Perry an asskicking.

Jeremey wrote:So he called Steve Augeri a "sound alike." Big freakin' deal. Auggie is man enough to handle it, and would be the first to admit that one of the biggest the reasons he got the Journey gig was because he was a sound alike. Perry, in his world, wouldn't see that as a slight at Augeri, more like just a statement about some distant thing that was once a part of his life.

Aren't you happy with the band you have now? Why do you need Steve to validate?
Don't you realize that you sound just as lame, just in a more abusive way?
