Surely, an Australian journalist, who strongly supports freedom of speech would never consider deflating scintillating(that means =exciting, ERIC) dialogue that is serving as a wonderful vehicle for entertainment?

No way. Deen is the band's secret weapon. The guy is a powerhouse player. Can do it all....Or at least could before he damaged his voice.

I wonder if Neal ending his Soul Sirkus gig has any relevence to this mysterious plot Deano is hinting at. Maybe Neal did it to concentrate on something else....

You can't afford to lose Augeri because without Augeri, we probably wouldn't have seen Generations. Remember how he got everyone moving to make a new CD?

I agree with this, and also voted for Ross. If Augeri were to leave I'd follow his career wherever......but I wouldn't cross the street to see Perry/buy tickets, because the Journey would definitely be over.....

How NOT amusing this thread is....(though NC always stimulates the mind with his questions) ..I mean come on.....do you actually think Perry would show up and do you actually think Neal would take the fool back?

If somebody knows something, let's cough it up.......otherwise go back to your sandboxes.

Perry back in Journey? Is Perry really a good enough drummer to replace Deen? He sure as hell can't handle the lead vocals for Journey now.
However this could explain Deano's insistance that the Dallas show won't be released. Good news for Soul Sirkus maybe as a Perry/Journey reunion would be a one and done deal...and Perry would cancel half the shows and they'd never be re-scheduled.
I would lose all respect for Neal and Jon if they ever took Perry back. Are they willing to be screwed over a third time?

They're not professional quality recordings, Dean. He does a fine job covering the catalogue. This is another reason why need a live album (not just dvd) from the real life lineup. The hyper criticism of his nuances on audience recordings. Augeri's is a fucking thankless task.

Agree with you and TheBelievingCause that Cain is close to irreplaceable. He's the melodic man, and good bad or indifferent for some time now melodic has been, is, and is the future of the band's sound.

I agree that Cain is pretty much irreplaceable, based on his songwriting alone. While some of us hardcore fans would still be interested in the band if Gregg returned, how would they cover from Escape forward with Gregg? While I love Gregg's contributions, I believe they'd have to bring in a second keyboard player to replace Jon's ability on synths and the technology. Wasn't there a claim by Bob Marlette that it was he, not Gregg who programmed and played most of the synths on the first Storm album? Or if Jon were to leave, would Neal be lessed concerned with what the masses expect of Journey and more willing to do whatever the band feels...

Wow guys! I can't believe that I am actually hearing people predicting a Perry return to Journey, but you know what they said about the Eagles!

I voted Ross as well, but honestly, I really like the guy! He has been in Journey (except for ROR) since the early days, and I find it hard to say he's expendable (hope that's the right word to say! )

I have listened to some of Gregg's stuff in The Storm and elsewhere and wouldn't mind him in Journey, but I feel that Cain at this point is probably not one who could be replaced so easily even with a former orginial keyboardist!

At this point, if you replace Augeri, you're just setting yourself up to be a lesser Van Halen. I think if Journey had more commerical success with Augeri, then fans would appreciate the fact that Journey could be successful with different lead singers (like Joe Gibbs was successful with three different Super Bowl Quarterbacks! )

Just don't replace Journey! I realize the guys are getting older, but honestly, I've been listening to this band for nearly 20 years and I'm not ready to imagine music without Journey.

Agreed. All of the members are doing a great job in carrying on the Journey name. Don't what RD is talking about, but Augeri is great. He is not to be Perry or a sound a like. He is his own man and sound, that happens to sound some what like Perry. Maybe RD is trying to get the board talking, been kind of dead sine the pro-perry people went to the perry board. :( :D ? Maybe he is going to pull a wrestling trick switch sides then back again, who knows, his opinion will not make me like or dislike the band, my mind is set. Anyway, Perry would sound the death of the band. Would had loved to seen a farewell tour with Perry in the band, then Journey continue on, with Augeri.......But continue on is what they need to do with Augeri :D -ERIC

I agree here wholeheartedly. Neal isn't stupid. He knows the Journey would be over before it ever got off the ground. Augeri is a great rocker who brings his own personna to Journey.

I voted for Ross, as I said, but I respect him also, and think he is a funny guy.
