He wouldn't have had a chance no matter what. He does not appeal to the masses.

Not argue for arguments sake, NIGGY, but Stern doesn't really appeal to the masses..he was just so good, the masses came to him.

Maybe not as a radio personality. But I've seen some of the VH concerts from back in the day, and he was a great frontman BACK THEN.

I also like the 2 tracks he did on the best of album a few years ago. I would like to hear the rest of the tracks he recorded.

Sadly, after EAT EM AND SMILE, the rest of his output has sucked. What an idiot... he lost both STEVE VAI and BILLY SHEEHAN... that could have been the band of the decade.

As much as I berate DLR, I feel sorry for the man in many ways.

His voice is shot.
His stage presence is nothing like it was.
He fronts a great VH tribute band....with him as the singer.
His ego is just to huge for him to realize that he no longer matters in the music world, save for a VH reunion, which will most likely never happen.
He could have used that Sam & Dave tour to elevate himself, instead he was typical Dave.

His best years were the Crazy From The Heat-Eat 'Em And Smile-Skyscraper days. After that...like Bode Miller at the Olympics, it was all downhill form there.
Oww. My aching tentacles.

Roth's radio show was the only one that I listened too. It was nice while it lasted. I hope he makes a new solo album soon. With all original songs.
