Yeah, that would be unbelievable.

Which would you all prefer? A final tour with DLR/VH, or a tour with half DLR/VH and half Sammy/VH, then VH carries on with Sammy?

Neither. Sam's doing fine, and DLR's doing...bluegrass?!

I agree with verslibre. I think it may end up being pathetic if DLR toured with VH. The old VH can naver be recreated.

I'm going to jump on this bandwagon too. I have absolutely NO desire to see Van Halen with DLR again. If Eddie can't get along with Sammy, there is no way in hell it will work with Roth again.

C'mon people Roth is a lounge act...he's finished.....Sammy's the man now....he's got talent and he's still going almost 60 years old now...unbelievable.....Roth can't recreate the past with VH...and even if he tried it wouldn't work and I wouldn't pay to see him. Hagar I would pay to see..

Who knows if Eddie will be able to tour again...it looks like he's wasting away.....

So, what did everyone think of Diamond Dave on the Late, Late show last night?
Should be very interesting when he is on "The View" with the gals next week......

I enjoyed it, it just shows how talented DLR is.
Am disappointed that he didn't jump. :(

Enjoy:

Thanks, lovelylourdes. Kind of fun. DLR's voice doesn't sound too bad.

Whatever you think about that darn crazy grin of his... or 'versions' he has created of these songs, I think he's still a good interview and his voice actually sounds pretty good. No matter in what matter, Dave is always going to be entertaining. It should be rather interesting on 'The View' next week!

I'd rather see Van Halen with David Lee Roth than with Sam Hagar.

Tell Hagar to promote his liquor somewhere else. I wish Michael Anthony would befriend David Lee Roth so we can hear classic Van Halen again.

DLR on Leno with the bluegrass version of Jump was excellent!
I had a blast watching it,VH with Diamond Dave will play stadiums again just like Journey would do with Perry - no matter what all you may think of DLR or Perry.
Hagar is cool too though.
Journey is not just a band,it´s a way of life!

Nice post. Yeah, I am pro Van Halen in any way, except for with Gary and I dig both Sam and Dave for the same reasons, even though they both are so different. Reason? They are who they are and true to that.
You know, the more I watch Dave sing Jump in this matter, it sort of grows on you. Dave could sing the alphabet and I would get a kick out of it. I just enjoy the gut period. Man, watching some of his solo videos lately like for Going Crazy From The Heat, Yankee Rose, and Paradise. Good stuff.
If you were to take every VH song that I LIKE A LOT (sorry , watching Dumb and Dumber ) from both Dave and Sammy era, it would be at least a six disc greatest hits type of thing. What a catalog of songs!
I will go see both the Dave and Sam tours this year. Saw VH in '04 and will go see them in ....... :?: More than anything it's going to be if Ed can get his act together.
I wanted to see what the total die hard DLR fans thought of all this, so I've been checking out the DLR Army Fan Forum lately...now granted, I only visit about 5 or 6 forums on the net and these are total die hard all the way DLR/Classic VH folk, but looking at the stats each day, I was blown away. Maybe some of you visit more forums or larger one's, so are not blown away by these stats, and these are just what I've seen rescently when I look in every so often. There are like always about 600 people at a time-guest and members checking the site out. They have like 20,500 members and around 600 post a day.
This got me thinking too that not everyone visits forums. I go to tons of concerts and speak with lots of people. Only a few visit forums. Also, not everyone is so up to date with everything that is on tv or being said on the net. If the average music concert fan heard that a classic VH reunion was taking place, they would go.
I was front row for VH in '04 and for DLR in '03. Both were great shows and both were great acts in their own way.
I also was actually quite impressed with how good Dave sounded on tv lately. Heck, I just think it's cool to see 'Diamond Dave' on tv! 8) :P
Dave is always going to be Dave and will be just fine. Nothing Dave ever will do will surprise me.
No matter what Dave does, it would not affect the effect of a classic VH reunion. This reunion would be huge.

Ever think there's a reason why Mikey isn't palsy-walsy with Dave?

Yes, Mikey rather would drink good liquor with Sam than make great Van Halen music with DLR as the lead singer.

Umm, Sammy has made a hell of a lot more great music than DLR did over the past decade or so...

And Van Halen had better music compared to Van Hagar. Just remember NealIsGod. Sammy Hagar was David Lee Roth's replacement.

Time for me to exercise. How about you?

Slight problem with your statement: "great" Van Halen music can no longer be made with DLR as the lead singer. It's simply the truth.

Great music can be made with David Lee Roth as their singer again if given the chance. The 2005 tour was horrible. Van Halen with Sam Hagar sound like an "activist" band instead of a rock band. The stronger Van Halen fans want Roth back. Hagar has nothing to offer Van Halen fans anymore. Roth can be the best frontman again with Van Halen.
