The band will have to address this sooner or later!

At some point the guys will be interviewed and asked about this its unavoidable i feel. How much of this rumour is true a lot i would say. When i first heard this i was shocked so i asked around and it seems it was confirmed that Steve was using tapes for around 50-70% of the show depending.
Look at the facts he is around 48 and expected to replicate Perry when he was late 20's mid 30's and one of the best singers on the planet, that is not easy.
Kevin Chalfont said when he first saw them with Augeri that they should play down a step to help Steve from stretching his vocals so much.so he was working hard from the start!
Now we have the drummer helping him....why.....vocal problems. Now the tape allegations dont sound so unlikely.
Were will Steve go from here ,he is a vocalist that will be known for not singing....a puppet! This is a tradegy for a good singer and all round nice guy like Steve he deserves better. What of the Journey name now....mud.
How many more weeks must we wait for an answer?
I will repeat what i said before, that is at the end of this tour there will be an announcement of some kind they cannot continue with a singer who cannot sing!!

New thread, same topic. No offense, but enough is enough. It is old and tiring. :(

while I agree, you sure do get in a lot of digs at people, for hating the numerous threads.

The whole situation is offensive to both sides of the fence, even the people sitting on the middle of the fence. It's even more offensive to quite a few people that the band won't respond, because they DO owe an explanation to the fans, no matter what it is, at this point. Especially if they want to "right the ship". There's lots of money at stake for the boys. if that goes away, they go away. Would you prefer that they no longer tour?

Hey bionic. Perhaps this will give you a different perspective, or perhaps you think I'm FOS. Anyway, I have not and do not deny SOME vocal tapes have been used at times, however I feel 50-70% of the time is a long stretch. Playing at a lower key seems like a great idea to me. And lastly, although some think it's a done deal, I think it's WAY to soon to be seeing doom and gloom after the end of this tour. Just like any other account/story, some have said the guys don't look to be having a good time, don't want to be there, etc. Although I have seen negative comments about Augeri's voice (which does not go along with accusations here. He should sound good all the time if he is not singing don't ya think?), I have heard the guys are tight as hell, sound better than ever, and look to be having a great time up there. I know Neal has been pumped for this tour. So there again, there are two sides to everything. Hope that gives you a little more sunshine for your day!! :)

I didn't say anything offensive to bionic. Spin it anyway you want. That is the norm anymore. Making digs? That's funny. I'm gentle compared to what I've read on here.

Again, old and tiring.

Peace to all. :D

If it comes up in interview I imagine Journey's response will be either "No Comment" 'that's just an internet rumor'. Of course, they could just cancel the rest of the interview.
