Yep, the band announced as per 'Drew's report that all Augeri era tracks will be fair game, as they most definatley SHOULD be. Oh, and I disagree with the thread's premise. He's replacing, however "temporarilly" it may be, Steve A.

Of course, I get it, Marabelle. Didn't Steve at one point say something about not realizing his fans missed him, etc.? I'd have to do some research on that, but I'm pretty sure it was something like that.

I never said Steve was stupid, nor did I imply that, by the way. On the contrary, I think he's extremely shrewd.

It would be beneath him in so many ways at this point.
Now JSS is fronting the band, doing a hell of a job pulling their asses up from the depths of deceit to their fans. It's like TNC said in a recent thread...something about you can't dislike them as much as Augeri because they are too damn talented. That's the problem. We all like Journey and want them to uphold their legacy as being the talented, kick-ass band better-than-just-about-everybody-else band. Maybe now with Soto, they can get back to business and once again show some HONEST musicianship. That's reallly what most of us want. Neal is going to continue touring and Perry ain't coming back. So they only way to bring this back from the dark side is to treat the fans with honesty and respect and they will get in back in spades.

C'mon EightyRock, I have NEVER hated Perry and don't to this day. What I HATE is people who use me or my posts as a lightning rod for their anger that Perry is doing nothing, much less being in the band. If you look at ALL of the threads, I started ONE. I didn't start the one about "This tour sucks" or "Go out with pride" or anyone of those. Those were started by OTHERS, but because I came here and decided to add my two cents to the thread, all of a sudden I'M the problem? That's giving me a tremendous amount of power, and while I wouldn't mind having it, I'm not stupid enough, nor egotistical enough to think that I have that kind of power.

I read a number of these threads (and saw attitudes) a few days before I even started posting again. As far as I can see, the animousity has been there between any number of people on this forum. I didn't cause it, bring it or advance it.

So, some of you are taking it personally about decisions that the band has made? That is nothing new either and has been going on for as long as I can remember, whether it was on BT, VH-1, or here.

Great post EightyRock. For the last few days I thought we'd been having a pretty good time here discussing the possibilities for the future and what we loved about the past whether it involved Perry, Augeri or JSS. We seemed to be having very few antagonistic so-and-so vs so-and-so issues too. Guess that's over. :(

Oh not really. It all depends upon what people consider to be "antagonistic so-and-so vs so-and-so" comments. Some people have been apparently willing to let the snide comments slide as seen in just a few of the previously posted threads, of which I had no part. It's been pretty interesting reading for me, but no surprises either. Everything's been pretty much the same ol' same ol'.

It's interesting that you say "for the last few days," implying that prior to that, it wasn't such a "pretty good time." Finding out that Andrew had to close this forum and the Steve Perry forum due to all the arguing (that I had no part in) was also telling and really didn't come as a shock, though I have to admit, thinking about it made me laugh.

So, try as you might Sherrie, the blame cannot be shoved onto me. :) Now, watch your Ps and Qs, or I just might have to comment. :) However, I'm finishing revisions on one screenplay and starting another, so I'm sure you'll all appreciate the fact that arguing about Journey, Steve Perry, Steve Augeri and now Jeff Scott Soto is not high on my priority list. Besides, the fight seems to be raging fine without me. :)

Uh...good one? :D Why you even wasted the bandwidth on that response is beyond me...

Where can I hear Deen singing "Faithfully"? I'd love to enjoy that. He did really well on "Patiently."

Yes he has. They did not perform it in Charlotte, but their setlist kept the crowd going all night!! They started with a Neal Schon solo (Star Spangled Banner).

Yes, just heard it from Barb's links posted here. Deen was AWESOME.

I think someone else mentioned this already (possibly Barb), but it's apparent that JSS is straining and his voice won't last if he has to go through this every night. Soto's got a great voice and I'd hate to hear it being ruined trying to sing in Perry's key and range all the time.
