Jeremey definitely has a strong voice, Chalfant has his own deal and Hugo can clearly cover the material even if some folks think his voice is "thin". I'd give Hugo the nod due to his demonstrated track record as a writer. For fucks sakes, Hugo has written better Journey stuff than Journey has since 86 and possibly 83. Has anyone actually listened to Valentine? That has to be one of my favorite cds, period. It fuckin rocks. Neil, get off your ass and put out some new rock for once in a row, will you?

As Jeremey said, give Hugo a hair cut, have him quite acting like Perry while keeping the non-asshole part, and put him up front.

L8r,

Aaron

Valentine and Open Skyz both rock, as does Hugo's first and third solo cds. Really didn't care for the second. But of the three names above, hugo would be last pick.-ERIC

Dude,

Why is Hugo your last choice. Based on your posting below regarding his previous work, I would have guessed you would have had Hugo up front. What are your thoughts?

My first choice would be Kevin C, he soudds very close to Perry but has his own distitice voice. Great writer in the Joureny mode.
Jermey would be second, don't know how J rigts, othere than the 4 songs I have heard. Would love to see him go at it
Hugo, is Perry's clone, yes, but I want to move on to something good, not do a repeat.
that is why I liked Augeri, he was not a clone-ERIC

Agreed, it may be a bit creepy...though the Hugo sung cut "Why is my heart feeling lonely" from the band Street Talk, is by far, my favorite track by them. I guess it's the sound. Isn't it bizarre how other folks can imitate Perry quite close?

Lighting works wonders - they're still not the same. I like Steve Perry but feel nothing for Hugo when I see his picture.
