"We've got, you know, armadillos in our trousers. I mean, it's really quite frightening, the size."

Myles Kennedy came from the band The Mayfield Four. I was a big fan of Creed and when they broke up; Alter Bridge was formed and I have been following them ever since. I have seen them live twice and they are amazing. Mark Tremonti is one of the best modern day guitarists and Myles Kennedy is NOT a Scott Stapp soundalike. Their music may sound similar to Creed (how could it not) but the vocals offer something different making them a great band. They are one of the only bands these days that incorporate 70's rock into their music. If you like the clip you should really check these guys out.

He's very underrated and I've heard that he often jams with some of the best players in the business.
Classic Rock wrote:He is underrated these days but when he was in Creed he was very recognized. It's funny he is ALOT better these days than he ever was in Creed. Alter Bridge just got rid of their record label (Wind-Up Records) who was really holding them back and not promoting them. They are currently working on a new cd that will hopefully launch them to the top of the charts. Only time will tell though.

I wonder if Creed will ever reform? Scott Stapp has admitted he was a real jerk and is getting help for his alcohol/drug problem.

One question...I was trying to figure out what the "clicking" was and couldn't see anyone in the band who might have been making that sound. It sounded like it was coming from the drummer since the clicking sounds like it's occuring on the same beats all the time, but it didn't look like it was the drummer. Any ideas?

WalrusOct9 wrote:Sorry...if you went to high school in the late 90's and heard that generic crap coming out of speakers constantly for 3 or 4 straight years, you'd think that too.
Creed parallells all the 2nd rate pop-metal bands of the late 80's...after DefLep and Bon Jovi became huge, all of a sudden there were dozens of bands that sounded just like it: Firehouse, Cinderella, Trixter, Nelson, etc. After the grunge thing came and went, then we had basically sanitized, second-rate whiny grunge music: Nickelback, Creed, Staind (obviously those guys never passed 2nd grade and learned to spell correctly), etc. Not only that, but Scott Stapp seemed to go around thinking he was god, or at least Bono, even though at one show he was so drunk that fans sued the band to try to get their money back.
So explain to me why generic crap like Creed was all over the place, but stuff like Harem Scarem doesn't even get released here?
WalrusOct9 wrote:To be fair, tickets were a lot cheaper when Clapton and Moon were having their problems.
As for Stapp's "lyrics"...I'll just leave that one alone I think.

WalrusOct9 wrote:I dunno. We saw them open for Van Halen in '98 before anyone knew who they were, and they were still fairly grating.
Nothing is as embarassing as that "Great Divide" song though. I mean, I'm a U2 fan...spirituality is one thing but let's keep the blatantly religious stuff out of rock & roll...it just sounds silly when it's that blatant in a hard rock song.

jrnyjetster wrote: Have you listened to Alter Bridge's debut album One Day Remains? Trust me, it's far from a "shitty" album and they're a far better band than Creed, IMO. And Myles Kennedy is NO Scott Stapp either...his range is amazing! I'm looking forward to their next album.
