That's great! Have fun with it. It's good for an audience recording. Not trying to ruin the fun of enjoying the music.

HOWEVER, comparing it to a professionaly recorded song - as Nora is doing, is completely bogus and pretty stupid, IMO. If you are going to do that, take the CD, put a tape in your cassette recorder, and turn the recording levels up so that it is recording constantly in the red, and sometimes maxes out - because that is EXACTLY what is being done here. Then you MAY be comparing apples to apples. I say 'may' because whoever did this may have ran it through an equalizer and/or put noise reduction against it...

Smarter - Journey should have done this for Augeri, and now for JSS. The essence of the songs remain in tact.

They did for SA...

Really?

No distortion happening here....

Bullshit. I sat here and watched the levels on my player. They are CONSTANTLY in the red and when it gets loud, they are maxed. THAT means it was recorded with the input level too high and the RECORDED sound IS distorted. It doesn't matter what you play it on - the recording itself is bad. If it was recorded with the input levels 'normalized', it would sound COMPLETELY different.

Look....WHATEVER

It sounds good to me, and I'm not about to split hairs about sound levels.

Monker, it seems like you usually only argue for the sake of arguing regardless of if you're right or wrong. The boot in question sounded pretty good on my computer at home as well, regardless of what the levels look like on your computer. Is it studio quality? No, but decent as far as boots go.

How great is L brewster on this! so smooth and great tone! His sole cds are cool too but the newer ones are extremely Christian.

Nothing wrong with that...In fact, he's a pastor, a youth minister, or something like that.

They did NOT lower the keys for Augeri. The songs are in the original keys.

I listened to it on my iPod this morning and it sounded really good. It's one of the best soudning bootlegs I've found.

Thank you so much for posting those live boots of Perry.

So awesome!!!! The power of this guys voice is unreal! Not to mention the melody of his delivery. Just unbelievable!

I can care less if he can still hit the high notes....doesn't mean a thing to me....it's the WAY HE SINGS!

From what I've been hearing, I can say with a great amount of certainty that his voice is in the same if not better shape right now than 95. He's rumored to be working very hard to get his voice where he wants it to be. If all goes well we should hear something in a few months if not sooner. I wish he wasn't so damn hard on himself. We know he's not going to hit notes he did in 1981. He couldn't even do that on Frontiers, yet it was a tremendous album. He's always been the master of changing the music to fit his voice while still keeping a signature Journey sound. They miss that creative aspect he brought now more than ever. They seem musically stagnant. I'd love an album with him on it even if it meant no tour or even just a short one. JSS is not the answer. However, I respect him as an artist, a performer and most of all as a person. But this band sorely needs whatever it is that Steve Perry brings to the table. There's just a magical chemistry when he's with Cain and Schon.

Why don't we wait and see what magic Soto, Schon, and Cain are capable of conjuring first!
In the meantime, Perry can do whatever the hell he pleases.

A)
Absolutely. Maybe it is time for a change. I'm open minded about it. Let's give 'em a chance.
B)
Why change the habit of a lifetime?
He hasn't felt ready to do anything - for whatever his reasons. Maybe now he is ready to come back. Let's give him a chance, too.

I am NOT wrong on this. Play it on a player where you can see the levels - IT's MAXED...which by the very definition means it is distorted. It is a FACT. Posting "it sounds good to me" is an OPINION. It doesn't matter how it sounds to you - the FACT is that it is the input level was turned up to far when it was recorded.

Funny, that's what I was saying in 1994-1995, except it was about Chalfant and not JSS. Let Journey be Journey, and let Perry be solo.

The difference is, Perry hasn't shown much interest in doing ANYTHING, solo OR with Journey...and Journey with JSS may not sound much like Journey anyway.

I'm not stopping that. Enjoy it, have fun with it. I couldn't care less.

However, it was said it was "crystal clear" and was being compared to the songs in the box set. Again, that's bullshit, it's not even close to that level of quality.

If people are going to go THAT bonkers and post crap like that, why shouldn't I say they are full of shit and don't know what they are talking about? Seems to me that is a main purpose of this forum, to tell other fans they are full of shit.

Monker, as is the case with your insanely persistent arguments...THE HORSE IS DEAD. My wife gets on me for arguing when there's no reason for it and you're way and above that. Heck, I'm probably even doing it by bothering with you at all. Image
