I wasn't very excited about the other re-releases, but I can hardly wait for this one. I have big hopes for the Strange Medicine one too.

You would be paying for a much better quality sound. I noticed a big difference from the first note.

The cd's haven't been tweaked as far as I know (being remasters). These are just reissues with booklets and bonus tracks. :D

They are remastered, re-issues with booklets. It states it in the liner notes under the Reissue Credits; remastered by Bob Ludwig and Brian Lee at Gateway Mastering Studios, Portland Maine. All I know is my remastered, RE-ISSUE sounds a lot better than the previous incarnation I was listening to and it was well worth the money!

Perry people...you're going to Love this

Postby squirt1 » Mon Aug 21, 2006 5:36 am

As far as the quality of these new releases,I would compare it to the recent DVD and CD of the Escape tour. To me I hear the instruments separated out more and Perry's voice incredibley clear. I feel like I am there .There are things I never heard Neal or Ross play before. You should play it on a Sony Walkman. Amazing ! In some interview Steve talked about cleaning up the tapes with today's technology. On JDK Q & A 4-14-06 he talks about the sound. The Sony ad states Superior remasted sound & bonus tracks. I can't wait to get ROR & TBF. Steve probably is also going to put out more live concerts on DVD and those may have cds as Escape did. He said he had to see how much tape there was for Mt Aire ROR. He's got us !!

.................................Thanks for that review, squirt1. I know what you mean about a Sony Walkman. They are right in the room with you. I enjoy FTLOSM that way also.

It'd good he gets the Alien Project Demo remastered and preserved for the future
especially since it was originally on reel to reel & tape deteriorates with time. It would be a shame for the world to loose the music amd hoe great for us to finally hear it after all these years.

I have Escape and GH, and they are not re-masters, they are re-issues. When I bought them there was a big yellow sticker on the saying "rei-issued". They are once again giving credit to the 1996 remastering of the cd. :D

yeah, that's what the fine print in the booklets say. kind of sucks, really. (JMHO)
But sounds like the solos stuff will be well worth it!! (You might have to duke Misha out to be first in line, though, lol...)

Did anyone post a scan of the GH booklet yet??
