Nothing aside from a monkey wrench to the balls will help anyone hit those high notes other than natural talent.

Natural talent went out with the horse and buggy. No vocal enhancement is natural.

Why? Why am I always in your posts somehow? I am not a lead singer. I am not an ex lead singer. How do I mix in this post of yours?

What Andrew was saying, is Perry was so good, that 99.99% of the singing populace could never duplicate his voice....However, Soto IS NOT Perry, and does a pretty good job at it. In fact, Soto is making these songs his own.

...........................I just followed your post, Dean.

They said that Augeri was making the songs his own, also.

I don't think that Soto is making the songs his own. The soulful feeling for what he's singing isn't there for the Journey music. Mellow is missing and it's the heart of melody, imo.

Actually, I agree with that 110%. Soto knows he can't match Perry's voice, so he doesn't even try to. You're right, he puts his own spin on it and makes it his own. I have to say between JSS and Deen I am starting to get excited about "Journey" again. Saying that I would drop everything to hear more solo work from Perry again! :D

Ha ha, I knew this was coming!!! It's a friggin' A/B midi board I use to switch monitor mixes in my ears....I've never used the personal (ear) monitors before onstage & with this size stage, it's very necessary to control the front of house sound, but I like to hear different things that you normally do when it's live RIGHT from the speakers/amps/drums/mics which has been hard for me to adapt to. I have several mixes digitally set for me that I can change on the step of a switch, much like a guitar player does with sounds, so I can adapt to certain songs/parts better.....sometimes I wanna hear Deen's voice louder than others, sometimes I need more guitar, less backing vocals, etc., It's pretty cool actually, making me LOVE the in ears now which I've always hated.

There's your answer...you won the bet!

Andrew, I have always suspected there was someone off stage doing "something" to a singer so they could hit high notes. Now I know! J/K 8)
