Thank you for the link. However, I have an observation I'd like to make pertaining to the interview. I don't think Steve was well at the time. If you listen closely, you'll hear him kind of gasping for air at the end of each sentence. I could be wrong, and I shouldn't make assumptions, but I'd bet my ass he was having problems of some sort. He just didn't sound like himself in my opinion.

Well, that seems normall since you can hear every breath he takes on FTLOSM.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I've often thought that he used those breaths for emotional emphasis and I still believe that however I have to wonder about his mic level/sensitivity. Obviously, it was way high to capture his breaths but was it turned down for his voice? Just how much studio technology did "God" use?

Dang - I'm just not myself at the moment. Disregard my comments above.

I've always thought he was badly out of shape or was having some issues with who knows what, but that album just didn't seem right to me. He sounded out of breath and rushed on a lot of songs. I'm probably butchering the wording and conveying myself well. But I think some will understand what I mean. Any thoughts?

While he may have sounded breathy, I didn't hear "rushed" on FTLSM, actually the opposite IMO, he seemed to drag some songs. While he did look thin in the FTLSM footage I don't know if he was out of shape......saying that, I think he looks healthier now then he did during FTLSM.

As for the mics on some radio interviews......I think some are so clear they pick up everything, every breath, click, etc. Shit I have one ROR one that is so clear that you can hear Neal swallow after talking and pretty much hear the saliva travel down his throat.....TMI if you ask me.

He did say in an interview not too long ago that he was older and had some health issues besides the hip he said, ????? could be asthma, allergies, could be another reason he stays on the dry West coast rather than living on the East coast with his family.

Thanks for that, Deb...I'd never heard this interview before. I think that it was pretty amazing for SP to consider going into Medicine. I wonder if he still feels that way about the band - to just be friends without conditions?

Well, let me tell you Rick....its been a mystery for several years what "really" happened and what we hear and what we WANT to hear. Sometimes an old interview from years back may hold a clue-an important piece of the web that has disappeared. You might not be a Perry fan but some of us are die hards and want to hear him talk, sing, burp, toot, whatever he does that makes sound. So, there is your answer and thank you for asking it! Thanks Deb for the download, I personally enjoyed it very much!!!! 8)

Thanks for that, it was interesting. It's not uncommon to sound breathless when you're nervous (I know I do) so I wonder if that's what it was. If he's quite shy anyway, offstage, and had been out of the interview loop for a while.....

Just a thought :)
