Aaron has an agenda...the "son laughing" bit proves that.

He and others that don't wish to embrace a new direction can go buy the re-issues and listen to them at home. The rest of us can have a blast for years to come.

Thanks Deano...and guys for posting these in yousendit

fuck.. you not "going to war" to change his mind???

I say again.... it sounds ok.... but ok is not good enough for Journey.

The only way forward with Jeff is to write new stuff... slowly drop the hits... as he is not doin them justice really... good voice but doesnt have a distinctive edge

If thats as good as its gonna get... its gonna have to be the quality of any new songs that are gonna clinch it, and not the singer...which is a complete reverse for Journey!!

sorry...thats my opinion as of this moment!

im prepared to change on this.... if I hear the magic that you evidently are hearing right now!

I'm glad I don't know anything about music, :) or tech stuff or who is singing bg vocals, I just listen and enjoy the music, guitar, singer, piano, drums :) . Some people on here pick everything apart! Why can't they just enjoy?????

you are taking the piss?? after all the fuss about tapegate, and Augeri lipping?? and all you care about is how the end product sounds !!! ????? you need to play some serious catchup man

If all that mattered was the "final product" then Augeri would have been left alone by Deano....as the "final product" sounded great didnt it?? except it was mimed.... duh !!!

I WILL say that THE BAND is playing great. THANK GOD Neal's punched up his guitar sound. I always thought his sound got lost in a lot of shows and to some extent albums.
I listened to all the tracks.
Chain and Dead are not tough songs although, the note that JSS hits at the end of Dead is pretty awesome.
Still, I'm not blown away as many seem to be. Granted, I have to see them, but not sure I will.
When a new guy joins a band, there's ALWAYS more energy. All the way from Pete Best to Lawrence Gowan, this has been the case. Journey is in the honeymoon phase. We'll see what happens in the long run.
Jss sings some parts of Keep on Runnin really good here. The other recordings I heard were really really not good. He's not pushing and missing as much as he was, but it's still happening. In the first "Morning Light" he almost channels the Perry duck tone for a sec. ;)

I thought it was funny in Chain how he told the guy to get off the phone. You know, if they're using taped backups, why not also use a touch of pitch correction just for a bit of help? Everybody uses it now.

I still hear Jss struggling with pitch and pushing too hard, but it's better than it was by a long way. At least I'm feeling there's hope. With most of the other boots, I wasn't diggin them at all.
For me, I LOVE the song Escape. But JSS can't pull this one off. Augeri barely could and Augeri is a higher singer than JSS. Listen to all the adlibbing at the end. It's pretty bad, sorry. While it's a killer song, they should swap it with something more in Jeff's range OR let Deen handle those spots. There's an idea, why don't they do that? It'd save the song. Jeez, Perry sang with Rollie, why not Castronovo with Soto?

Thanks for posting these deano. Great recordings. Definitely a lot of energy here. I would really like to hear an actual studio recording of these guys. Live though, there are moments of greatness and moments of it not working.

Plus he is all over the stage and doesn't even sound out of breath.

Out of breath could translate to flat. He's definitely flat in spots.

Anyone know if this is going to be posted in full on any torrent sites or whatnot? I'd love to have a lossless FLAC version to burn to CD and listen to until Journey decides to tour on their own and I can justify spending $80-100 on it.

I know there are some patches that aren't perfect. Big fucking deal? He is up there and he is raw live...get that? Live. As NIG said, you need to see the show live. It is the single best show I have ever seen.

I apologize for nothing. If you don't like, fuck you and see ya later. IF you do, welcome aboard.

And McNeil, if I ever see you on the tracks in front of my train, I will speed the fucker up and squash your head like a zit, you smelly cocksucker.

So far Journey themselves are just as tied to the "reissues" as the most stick-in-the-mud fans are.

Do all you critical people realize that Jeff is not standing/sitting in a recording studio singing? He may be 100% if that were the case. He's all over the freakin' stage...

No it didn't sound great--live it was awful- I didn't like Arrival or Generations except for a very few songs, one of which was Deen singing. Please, go away.!!!!

Do you all realize how fortunate you were to hear this stuff?

I will be more than happy to post some horrifying Perry stuff where all the music was rushed and not good at all.

You just heard a raw soundboard from last week, from ONE SHOW, and to hear some of the comments posted is sad. Although most of you GET IT. Totally positive. :D This shit was AWESOME.

Perry is a fag. Go listen to his NEW music.........

I really don't feel that way, but some of you are ass clowns.

Look. This version of Escape was from ONE show. I have another boot from a few weeks back where everyone swore it was Dean singing the high parts. But JSS said it was all himself. Every show is different. Some better than others. As far as these boots go they are miles ahead of the first shows and the Boston, MA show was even better than these boots.

The bottom line, that is not Journey.

+ FUCKING 1!!

Jeff is good but that is not Journey.

Journey tries that sound next year and they crash and burn without the support of Def Leppard fans in the crowd. Mark my words.

Pardon my ignorance nut I can't seem
to get any of the songs you posted Dean'o.
I put the filename in the right hand corner,
then the size, then it asked for something else.
I have no clue what it wants so I can hear these.
Any help would be appreciated.

Gonna try grabbin Niggy's now.

I thought this board encouraged diversity of opinions...

I don't hear any NEW music in this thread.

But then again...I can't hear ANY music because the links won't work on my stupid machine. I'm pleased though that the consensus is that these renditions of OLD songs are exciting...I can't wait to see JSS in action.

Exactly...dude you just proved my whole point. Def Lep fans loved him because they love that harder sound and that is exactly what JSS brings with him. Most Journey fans do not love Journey for that type of sound. Give a listen to the last 20 years of their music. Doesn't even sound close.

So Dude, why don't you explain what my "agenda" is then. Just because I'm not on the band's ass kissing train like you are means I have an agenda? The bottom line is I don't care for the current line up, I don't think it sounds like Journey. It sounds like I'm not the only one either. But its just my opinion. So does it also mean that you have an "agenda" because you have your head so far up the band's ass that your ears are covered and you can't hear the music? I have my opinion and you have yours, I'm fine with that. If you're not ok with that then fuck off dude.
