Nothing against Journey ( I already saw them this tour ) so I've changed my mind about going so far to catch another show. Gonna catch the Aerosmith/ Motley Crew show coming up instead. Anyone else going ??

I was never a huge fan (of either) but Aerosmith puts on a great show. Many years ago in Chicago, I met the guys & got free tix & back stage passes for a show (Joe Perry is even hotter in person, is it the last name?). They were all very nice guys too. I'm glad I did that but to be honest, I wouldn't pay money for a show these days when there are bands I do want to see.

Would love to, but so far no dates in Canada. I have seen both separately....Crue just last year on their Carnival of Sins tour. My little bro and some buds are flying to Vegas in November for the show.....lol....hope they all make it back remembering their own names. Seriously.....I think they just can't get enough of Tommy's tittie cams.

I have fan club seats availability through Aerosmith. I nearly gagged... $450 - $750 - $1000. I love the guys... I do, but damn. Not right before the holidays. Wish they'd come here earlier this year (when I had money)

I saw Aerosmith/Motley last Saturday 9/30/06 at Nissan Pavilion in VA. Awesome sound, great stage set-up by both bands. All around sweet show. Motley's stage was filled the their normal fire, girls, choppers, devil shit and tons of other stuff.

I like Motley better but, Aerosmith was great as well. Their stage had a catwalk into the crowd.

Say what ya will about Crue, but they DO put on a good show. Although Vince isn't the best singer out there......still a damn fine frontman.

Vince is a cool dude. His voice was a little hoarse that night. He announced to the crowd that he lost his voice a few day ago. But, he still kicked some ass.

Deano,

Bullshit, bullshit, and bullshit. I've seen Aerosmith live around a dozen time in the last several years...and there is no fucking way Tyler is "lipping". Seen the Crue twice recently...and Vince's vocals are not good enough to be anything but live. You might have been right about Augeri...but you're full of shit on this.

I am going Monday night. Riverbend is on the Ohio by the Old Coney Island and Riverdowns race track. It will be very cool, as in temp. I have never seen MC before, but Aero many times At my age and that of the band, I think it is prudent to attend every year.

Aerosmith is a great live band. I've seen them 50+ times in the last 30 years...and they always deliver. Also...I'm not a big Motley Crue fan, either. But, they are surprisingly good live. And don't worry about "piped in" vocals. If you don't go, however...I don't blame you. I wanted to go see this show (later this month). But, tickets were $200 each (for decent seats). Fuck that. Unless John Bonham comes back from the dead, and the original Zeppelin reunites, NOBODY is worth $200 a seat.

Bullshit. Where? When? I've seen them (Aerosmith) live 50+ times...and I've seen no evidence of it.

I keep up with pretty much all things Aerosmith, and I have NEVER heard of this. Show some proof, dude. Otherwise, I think you're completley full of shit.

It wouldn't surprise me about either band, honestly...Tyler's getting way too old to hit the kind of notes he hit 30 years ago. I'd be curious to hear some evidence though, but I don't feel like plowing through latter-day bootlegs when I could just put on some classic stuff.

I saw Toto last month and I promise you Deano, the lead vocals are not lipped. Bobby Kimball isn't exactly the world's smoothest singer, and it's pretty obvious when he's off pitch or when he's struggling. Luckily he's on more often than not, but there were definitely questionable moments. I do think they rely a bit too much on taped backing vocals (especially on stuff like the chorus of "Africa"), but it's no more than Journey still does with their taped backing vox.

Funny. No one thought Augeri lipped either. You can't tell by just looking. I don't care enough for Aerosmith to bring them down in order to go live. They are complete shit now. They used to rock....now they try to "pop" their way through music.

Motley has a nice stage. Seems like it has been done before 29 years ago though.

Aerosmith routinely cancels 1-3 shows per year. Most of the reasons given, that I have seen, have been that Tyler could not sing. Why would they give up an arena show date, if all they had to do was run a tape? Lord knows they have enough live tape performances out there to provide a decent vocal.

Then PROVE IT, you Dickhead. You made some claims about several bands using "piped in vocals"...including Aerosmith. So let's see your evidence, dude. But you don't have any, do you. Because as I've stated several times now, it's bullshit.

So there it is. I think you were just talking out of your ass...and I'm calling you on it. Can you back up your statements at all? Or are you just gonna' call me names and dodge the issue?

I went to this show. I was excited about both bands. I've seen Aerosmith six times and Crue three times. I LOVED the Carnival of Sins tour that Crue did. It was probably one of the better show I had ever seen. They TOTALLY disappointed me on this Route of All Evil tour. First, co-headlining tours leave me wanting more of both bands. Once Journey exited stage left, I could have cared less about seeing Def Leppard. Second, if you think the stage set looks awesome, don't let that sell you. Crue released so much damn smoke you couldn't see the stage!! Hell, we could hardly see Tommy Lee throughout the entire show. Vince seemed disinterested and just going through the motions. Aerosmith and Crue are also two totally different style of rock music. It's not a good fit at all. The only thing I enjoyed about this show was the Aerosmith played a lot of their older tunes (everything dating pre-Permanent Vacation). I wouldn't recommend spending more than a lawn seat for this show.
