I think it falls more into the category of people keeping a promise to remain mum until all things are ironned out and the band/Management can make 'Official' statements. Some band members or crew may have told people in confidence about future plans and those folks are justing keeping a promise to keep quiet; trust is a hard thing to earn, even harder to earn if you've lost it once...
Example, The Wombat. Apparently the guys have given him some extensive and insightful interviews full of all these tasty info-nuggets we are after. But they probably have asked Drew to hold off on posting everything until they are ready.
Now it's just a guess on my part but, I have a suspicion that Andrew would've stayed up for 4 days straight to transcribe and post all his info if he were allowed to post it anytime he wanted; these seem to be 'Mother-of-All Journey Interviews. Again, I am only guessing but, I think Drew promised to keep hush until the band gives him the green-light. Then they will graciously let him break the scoop with his monster story and will put an Officail Statement on the Official Site. Drew has always been VERY supportive and faithful to the band and I think they trust him alot.
Remember, Drew said he hoped to have everything posted by mid-November...
Hmmmmm... Doesn't this leg of the tour end then too?

I think everything you've said is spot on. It's more than reasonable that this is the case. It's too bad that the quips and innuendos continue.

My biggest fear is that the European dates will take away from the time it takes to create great music. They could go to those shit holes in Europe and sell them out when they're 70 if they wanted to. NOW is not the time.

I wasn't there....but comparing this tour to ROR boots I've heard, the quality of this tour is much, much better....and frankly the setlist is too. Not only did ROR sound like a sloppy mess (like, If DeanO blew Nancy) but OhSherrie, Strung Out, Jailhouse Rock, Girl Can't Help it.......YUCK!

The quality of the devices used to get the boots is much better now though. Either way, the message of my post is really the latter half. Starting with the words "Another thing..."

Yeah, it's tough to say alot about which tour sounds better with the ROR boots I've heard. But, I've heard enough ROR tour boots to know they played alot of stuff WAY too fast. Is there a story behind this I've never read? Ask The Lonely is ridicuously quick as are many more. AWYWI they always played up tempo with SP but so many more songs on the ROR tour were played too fast.

They're coming to Europe for just over a week. Big deal.

They could go to those shit holes in Europe and sell them out when they're 70 if they wanted to.

Well, maybe playing a headlining tour to a 100% diehard audience in the UK will help the band's self-esteem...instead of being a support act and feeling too timid to play any surprising songs in case it confuses the moronic US audience.

NOW is not the time.

Now is so the time. Journey have toured here ONCE in 26 years and the last tour was a deception. An outstanding Journey performance in Europe is LONG overdue.

But I do take your point that a decent album is long overdue as well - so apart from the brief visit to Europe they definitely need to concentrate on their recording career next year.

I don't care if they go to Europe as long as they're recording along the way - maybe it's better for them to do it while they are creatively and musically on fire right now. Keep the chemistry going I guess. Just don't burn out after Europe and take a break for summer '07!!!

The songs were sped up though Dean. I hate the boots from that tour. I didn't go live, so you may be able to sell me on it from that perspective.

You don't think I know they weren't sped up? I have over 15 ROR boots and yes, they were sped up and they did NOT sound as good as Escape tour, BUT, you are right, the visual was simply awe inspiring.

You're a fuckin faggot if you don't like Stern. Every "real" guy likes Howard.

There's a time and place for everything. Stern belongs on Sirius where his audience has to pay for him. He doesn't belong on commercial broadcast where minors can listen to him. He constantly cried about the FCC (which was nothing more than a cheap way to create an enemy, friction, and ratings) and how they were infringing on his "freedom of expression".

The man's a total IDIOT to think for an instant that his so-called "art" has a place on FM radio.

One of the most disturbing things I've ever heard was one of his last broadcasts where interviewed via telephone a 70+ year-old woman who makes adult movies. She was clearly mentally unstable and Stern shamelessly exploited her in his typical fashion. He played audio clips from her movies where she was moaning, etc. It was flat out SICK.

Society doesn't put up with child molestors because the children are innocent and incapable of defending themselves. But here's a guy taking advantage of mentally ill people - exploiting them in very disturbing ways - calls it "art" and then cries like a baby when the FCC slaps a fine on him for breaking regulations that he should abide by according to his licensing agreements.

He lost the battle. He had to retreat to Sirius.

Good riddance!

I was a fan of his in the beginning. His act wore thin and he had to constantly turn up the shock value. Listening to any of his older broadcasts makes him look like Mister Rogers. Sometimes I would listen to him on the way into work to see if he had anything of substance to say. I was always disappointed to see how far he had slid.

When I got to work there were people who listened to him religiously so he was always on. His show set a pretty dark tone. Glad he's gone.

I think it's a great idea. After all it was in the UK & other parts of Europe that all the lipping stuff became most obvious. Now they tour with Jeff who already has a following in Europe & they blow it all out of the water & reestablish themselves. This might well be a brilliant move on their part.

Just want to clarify that just because I am Webmaster for and know George Tickner personally, does not equal I know what is happening inside Journey. Yes, George remains close to the band and especially Ross (they are HS friends and own a Studio together), but he only knows so much. Every once in awhile he is privvy to inside information, such as when the band was in the studio rocking out "Generations and he was there on several occasions, but there are more cases than not, such as the current one with Steve Augeri, he nor I has any inside information on.

The only information I have is what everyone else outside the band's inner circle has. What the band is telling us. The only place they are telling us is at their Official site. All of the who's in and who's out theories are nothing but speculation and innuendo. All of the crap about "Tapegate" is rumor and innuendo. I don't deal in rumor and innuendo.

Right now, the word is temporary. Noone knows what might happen in the future. Heck, the band probably doesn't know the exact script for 2007 and beyond. Whatever happens will happen. I support the band. I support every member of the band and that includes Steve and Jeff. Yes, I consider Jeff a member. He is up on stage with the band, night after night and until that changes (or doesn't) he is the lead singer of Journey.

Yeah. I'm the fool forking out hard-earned money to hear the belching, vomiting, farting, and any other bodily function of an over-sized adolescent.

My money goes for diapers. They at least serve a real purpose: to keep shit from spilling out all over the floor. Stern could use one for his mouth. Maybe I'll send him one.

I agree. The official word is temporary however as this thread displays - particularly Andrew's response to your "egg on the face" comment - JSS is in and SA is out. Unless his comments were merely meant to keep things going round and round.
