Here is a post from Crazie Scarab on the Journey board related to "off color" posting:

So, here is a guy - Brian - who has posted over 16000 posts (according to his profile), and obviously from this post above would like people to use "common sense and decency" at BT. Over here though, he's going to throw that completely out and be something he's not, or at least be his "real" self here while for over 16000 posts, pretending he's someone else at BT.

Sure, I believe that, don't you? I'll take it a step further and try and contact Crazie Scarab on BT and ask him point blank if it's him that is posting here using the Crazie Scarab nic. If he says "Yes, that's me," then of course I'm wrong and I don't have a problem admitting it. On the other hand, if it IS the same Crazie Scarab, then at least I know he's a total hypocrite and anything he says at BT means nothing since his real opinion is expressed here.

I will pat him on the back though for being able to continue the charade for over 16000 posts at BT. That is remarkable.

Fred, I'm not afraid to publicly agree with you. I understand exactly what you're saying. I like Dean for the person I know is behind all of his over the top nonsense and think some of the stuff he comes up with is funny. Not the gross toilet and deviant sexual humor so much though. I just don't read it. I don't go into the Booze and Sex thread or the Strange and Disturbing thread.

The problem is that any discussion or debate on any subject in any thread is subject to getting totally trashed, and those who were enjoying the actual conversation they were having are just out of luck. In that sense all the trash and bash interferes with the freedom of other posters to enjoy what they want to talk about. If freedom of speech and opinion are what makes this board as great as it is, we should all have that freedom and not be told how gay, stupid, fat or whatever that we are for it. Dean isn't the only person on here who disrupts the threads. A lot of the time it's people intentionally baiting someone who's participating in the thread because of some private agenda they have with that person.

It's just the way it is here because of the personalities involved and some of those people are the most frequent and faithful, longtime posters on this board. Many have tried to effect change, most notably Andrew, but there's only so much that can be done without getting too heavy handed with the moderation and stifling the board. Not to mention the possibility of alienating some of the core group of posters that have been faithful to this site and board. It's got to be really hard to find a balance and draw the line. I certainly don't have the answer, but I wish you luck in finding it.

As for polite debate and discourse on all things Journey - it's all been done to death. There will be plenty of relevant discussion when those interviews are posted. Maybe you should take a break for a few days if you get offended so easily?

I agree with Fred that Crazie Scarab posts completely different here than on BT. And for someone to spend as much time on BT posting in that style, it seems odd that they can throw it all away and post completely different here. I have thought many times that this does not sound like Brian....but I don't care what the screenname says. I care more about the content of the posts.......and many times there is absolutely no redeemable content in the posts here.

The threats are truly troublesome. I've been on the receiving end of a few of them. It's easy to have keyboard courage and throw those kinds of threats around. It's also easy to respond to them in a rational manner however some of the things said here cross certain lines.

There is a way to set that up so that approval has to be granted to join that section of the board. At least that is possible on the one I am an administrator on. I'm not sure how Andrew's works or if he'd even have interest in that. Just throwing it out there as an honest suggestion.

However, you know everyone would still be reading the "unlimited" board. Dean has a lot of information and no matter how much you may not like his delivery, everyone would still be on the unrestricted site IMO.
