Hershey PA Perry Show

Have you guys listened to it? AWFUL performance by Perry. It sounds like he's frustrated with his voice and he's totally yelling in some points. He also says "motherf*cking" somewhere and over sings way more than I've heard him before. Not a good show at all...
Also sounds quite wasted. Too bad.
Anybody know how far after this he cancelled the tour?

The tour was cancelled sometime in 1995. I don't know the exact date.........

haven't listened to that one yet, not sure if I got it, but the Rockline 99 one was pure crap, someone must've put a mic to a speaker and recorded it that way, because the quality is pure shit and unlistenable. Not that I don't appreciate the efforts, but there's some REAL gems on that board and there might should be SOME quality standard for some things.

The sound quality is okay, but the performance is really bad. Very uninspired and very hard to listen to. He hits the pitches, but his voice is raw. He also keeps saying something during the songs to fit the beat, sounds like "muthafu**a! muthafu**a! muthafu**a! " or something. I heard that on another show too. He does say it during the intro of Dixie Highway. Don't get me wrong, I got no problem with the guy swearing, it is r n r after all, but it just sounds stupid and I can't believe it's Perry. During Separate Ways, he over sings and it's not good like he usually is. It just sounds like crap to me and I love the guy.

I heard another boot from either Milwaukee or New Jersey that was a friggin' magical performance. His voice was a bit rough, but it was really really a good show. This one is pretty pathetic. I would've cancelled the tour after this night if I were him.

Perry is "famous" for swearing at concerts, particularly the F word. For me personally, it brings the reality that he's not a "GOD", but a human being just like the everyman. As like you, I have no problems with him swearing, but who really knows what was going on? Maybe his cell phone kept going off during the concert?

He got better about a month later at the Pantages .

Yeah, I could care less that he swore, but it just seemed like he was out of it and his voice was terrible.

Listening now, some songs are really hard to listen too and others are great...I'm not real crazy about the band but it could just be the boot.

Well I for one am completely offended at that piece of sacrilege. If Perry were portrayed as Mohammed, Muslims would be rioting in the streets and brywool would be stoned. We need all religion or any religious symbols taken off this forum. Jesus has nothing to do with Steve Perry or Journey.

AR, you know I have no problem with you, but...
That skanknasty hobag bimbo defacing that sweet car in your sig needs to go. I can't stand that bitch. I'd rather see Parasite Hilton's wonky eye staring at me than Jessica. (Car can stay though. )
Got any Angelina rolling in mud? Or Natalie Portman, or Kylie Minogue? I might have something.. I'll go look.

Ha Ha! Actually, I was waiting for some ahole to come out. My wife and I TOTALLY deck our house out for Halloween (rubber and plastic characters, gravyard, fog machine, etc.) and some WANK posted some religious "Trust in Jesus" flyer on the phone pole next to my driveway.
Ughgh. People suck!

I hate Jessica too. Just can't deny her in this particular offering.

Rotate these in and out every couple of days. She won't be there forever.

Well, I don't know about being "famous" for it...but yeah he does it - actually, that really seemed to start during the ROR tour, because I have never heard an instance of swearing on stage before that (other than 'hell' or 'damn' which we all know do not count). The ROR shows are peppered with variations of "F".

As for the thing brywool is talking about where SP is saying "mf" over and over for what appears to be no real reason...that's in the Hershey recording of DSB, after the 2nd chorus, and again at the end. And I'm not sure that this is exactly what he's saying. It's hard to tell. Opinons or proof are welcome to help clarify the matter. :)

But that's nothing...check out the Long Beach show from '86, where MF shows up actually in the song. Cracked me up the 1st time I heard it and I thought DSB actaully sounded better that way (sorry, I'm just so sick of that song that any change is welcome!)

So this is nothing new. I'm a little surprised though because there's not a whole lot of Fs or MFs in the 94 shows in general, so who know what was going on this particular night.
