fred_journeyman wrote:I'm not disagreeing with your assessment regarding Augeri lip-sync'g, but the idea of pulling the mic away from one's mouth while singing. That is also when the singer is going to really BELT out a note and they pull the mic away slightly to ensure that the volume through the mic won't necessarily change that much. Perry did this and even I would not be surprised if JSS does it as well. To hit some of the high notes required for Journey tunes, you really have to reach down and let it flow up and out. In order for that to happen, you almost always need more air, which translates to more volume.
As I say, I'm not disagreeing with you about the lipping, just adding on to your comment about why singers pull the mic away at times. But then again, I jumped in here in the middle of the conversation too. Are you saying that Augeri went through the "act" of doing what every singer does in the normal course of a concert when they're singing LIVE?

Now that certain people have gotten their way it's time to "move on."
This will NEVER be "over". You can bold and capitalize it all you want but people will NEVER "move on" from this. It's now part of JOURNEY's legacy. You're delusional if you think otherwise.

Just suppose that Deano was fed the tapegate information by a Journey insider and asked to give it wings so that Steve's position would be untenable and the door would be open for Jeff... would sure explain why Deano is still in good books with the band after an event that may well have cost the band a couple of million in payoff.

Don't you just love a conspiracy theory........ (pass the asbestos....full suit i think)

If you're gonna talk conspiracies then at least make them "Juicy"
You know, like...
STEVE PERRY fed all the tapegate info to Deano and the others involved because he was so pissed off that the band had moved on and did just fine w/o him. And the real reason that the band has been so nice to Dean is because Perry also fed Dean info about Neal and Jon that would tear us apart if ever brought to light...
Like...
It was actually Jon that pushed Ross and Smitty out of the band because, with all the new synth technology coming out, he felt he could be a one-man-band and Neal actually designed all the outfits for the ROR tour

This will never be over in "Our Little Internet Universe" because peeps like
you will be complaining about for years to come.
The average Joe-Concertgoer or Jane-Musicbuyer probably has NO IDEA
what TapeGate is...
Just drop it already.

Did Deano "give it a rest" when he was whipping the Tapegate wagon train?
Absolutely not.
According to Deano he whipped the wagon train until he single-handedly affected change. Today there's people like myself who question things and we're requested to "give it a rest".
I LOVE the double standard!
As moderator and owner here you can squelch me and others who question BUT Tapegate has bruised the JOURNEY legacy and it will forever be their blackeye in the vein of Milli Vanilli. It will forever be a subject of controversy just as it is with Steve Perry.
Supporters of Tapegate want to claim consumer fraud and have hung it all on SA. They say he should've done this and he should've done that. I say that NO ONE here is in a position to know ALL of the details as to WHY things were done so it's entirely impossible and out of line to say what should've been done. Instead of squelching voices now it seems to me that certain voices should've been squelched before that big blast of hot gas exploded.

I have to say I agree with Liz here - even though Fyre is like a dog with a bone when it comes to his two favourite subjects (I daren't even mention the other one) I think he puts up a good fight against the status quo here.

That's a hole-in-one post right there.
The fact that I'm being pressed to "give it a rest" actually speaks VOLUMES about those who are doing the pressing.

Hey - ease up on that "other" subject. It's a long lost dream by now and I'm not sure I'll ever recover.

Nah, I don't think the band has any clue that Deano is who he is when he's met them.

I find that very hard to believe....but I guess it would explain why Journey seem to show no resentment whatsoever about his blog...

That mess gave Neal a headache. There's no way he pals up to the guy in the photos we've seen posted.
They've got no clue. JSS probably knows...but Neal? No way.

My latest claim to fame was in Vegas and Neal asked if I was RockinDeano's girlfriend .... I was afraid Somehow the band knew I was involved with Dean and it was not from Jeff, he assured me. Neal said Deen told him
